I do have a sneaky suspicion that Lunar Eclipse could come on a ton for recent run, but the same applies to Surprised, who was all at sea on Beverley track on seasonal debut when finishing second. I think that run can be upgraded, and coupled with the fact she looks the type to improve with racing, I think she is a very strong each way bet.

although 3 runs this season have been mediocre its hard to forget how well ATLANTIC GAMBLE progressed last season when winning 6 races rising 27lb in the weights , the handicapper has released his grip a bit and selection who is now 1lb below last winning mark at newbury. at this price i'm hoping application of headgear will work the oracle

Formerly trained by Karl Burke, WAIT AND HOPE showed a reasonable level of form before regressing. However, it's possible that Ruth Carr may have found the key to him, as the last two runs showed considerable improvement. A 3lb rise for the last time out win looks fair. At the early price, it looks like value.

I'm not a huge fan of Epsom with its quirky up, down turning into a camber at the finish, but it does mean that course form is a big plus. ELOUISES PRINCE doesn't have that course form but has shown great speed and balance in winning twice last season. A huge price for one that looks very capable of running a big race. Did run a bit of a stinker on seasonal debut at York, but that's easily forgiven as it blew very hard and likely that will have blown cobwebs away.

BELLEZZA was very tenderly handled in a couple of races in Ireland when in the Ger Lyons yard before winning on the fourth time of asking at Dundalk. She made her US debut over a month ago and duly won a Grade 3, beating the re-opposing Beach Bomb by one and a half lengths. It wasn't a truly run race, so it's hard to assess strictly on the numbers, but I think there is plenty more to come from this filly.

MESEAN had run a very nice race at Ascot when second, only beaten a neck, before winning at Chelmsford on Sunday by 3 lengths. He looks an improving type, and to be honest, he probably doesn't even need to here as he is unpenalised.

This is a very tricky race, but I'm keen on Joseph O'Brien's BESET. She has exactly the type of profile I like in my selections. She has been allowed to progress with racing, is still lightly raced, and has a willing attitude. Formerly with Henry Candy, she signed off with a win at Wolverhampton before doubling her tally with a win at Sligo. O'Brien has his string in fine fettle, so I'd imagine he would have had a few options for this event. A huge run is expected.

Richard Hannon saddles the first and second favorite here, and I like the look of Emma Rebecca, who was raced over an inadequate 7f while gaining a handicap qualifying mark. Since getting her mark, she has raced over 1m2f twice, finishing second both times. The extra 2 furlongs today are very likely a big positive, and an improved run is very much on the cards.

DANCE NIGHT ANDDAY caught my eye on seasonal debut in Cork recently. She travelled like a good thing through most of the race but got caught in a pocket at a crucial stage before weakening late on. I think she will be a lot fitter for that and, with luck in running, could put up a good show.

This is wide open with plenty of possibilities, but I'm keen on ZOULU CHIEF, who had been off the track during 2024 before showing he had retained ability when third at Ascot. He had won at the Ebor meeting in 2023 off 1lb higher. If running to that standard again, it would be a very positive each-way bet with 5 places on offer with most bookies.

Aidan O'Brien has his string in great order, and he looks almost unbeatable in the top races at the minute in Britain. WHIRL is a very interesting prospect. She was given time to develop as a 2-year-old when gradually moving through the ranks before winning an ordinary maiden at Doncaster. She then won a Group 3. A poor run on debut was expected on seasonal debut as she looked very fresh in the paddock. She will come on a ton for that run and is very high on the shortlist today.
