Miss Kassiopi has arguably the best form but I'm not sure this is her optimum trip. I much prefer the chances of Stylish Recruit, a horse which likes this track, is in form and gets this trip. Has been raised marginally for latest run but I don't think the penalty is severe.

It's Ascot. it's 'Royal'. When the runners come down the fairway they'll be 'Royal' runners. The punters and bookies are no doubt 'Royal' too. What a palaver. With that in mind it will be a right 'royal' upset I suspect if True Test wins. Good stats though and lets hope for a true test for the selection.

I'm not a big fan of Duran Fentiman. I think his tactical awareness is appalling. However, he is on a horse here which has a decent cruising speed and which will actually get further. The horse wins in spite of the jockey.

I'm putting this up simply because of two reasons. Firstly, the horse is well experienced now and won't be phased by today's race. Second, for the experience just mentioned and the stats the horse has the selection is seriously over-priced. May very well not win and there may be some improvers here but given the places on offer this may be a canny bet.

Almaqam arrives here in good nick and though there is naturally a lot of support for Ombudsman, the favourite may find things tougher than the market suggests here. There is likely going to be a strong gallop in this and that should play into the hooves of the selection.

A very interesting Ascot Stakes where on or two of this are lurking under the radar. Ismahane is such a contender. She's making her first flat start for this yard and it would be no surprise to see her do well over this trip after running over jumps most of the time. The yard are intelligent when it comes to placing horses.

Obvious chance to improve further. Massive chance here. It's horse tracing of course and things go wrong but it'll be a major surprise if this favourite gets beat.

At these prices the selection looks over-priced considering the last run where there were still elements of greenness there. A lot of people are assuming that Buick is on the Appleby first string here but I'm not so sure. Loughnane is almost certain to get a tune out of Opera Ballo and if he's shrewd enough to save something for the last furlong the selection can win this.
