If Joeybottles copes with the hefty weight hike he'll be a threat. However, at prices Monaco Rules looks like he has the potential to outrun odds (14.0 on the exchange at time of writing). He has raced on the flat but it looks like he may have a better career on the jumping circuit. This trip looks ideal if the likely favourite underperforms.

Last time I tipped in an amateur race I got burnt so I'm wary of making the same mistake. Having said that, both horse - and importantly - jockey look decent here. The horse produced a very encouraging run after a long lay-off last time. Jeteye also gets the trip and should do well as long as the ground continues to dry. The amateur on top seems to have some decent stats to his name. Hopefully neither will let us down here.

Pontefract is probably going to be good ground given weather predictions. I think that will suit the selection, a horse that has solid form over the trip and that turned in a solid effort at Donny recently. Looks a tad overpriced.

Obviously there are quite a few with realistic chances and the nature of the race, even with the changes, mean that punters require a bit of good fortune. Having said that, Favori De Champdou ticks a lot of boxes and comes from a yard that knows how to win the race. Gets the trip and is in good form (when last seen). A big price which can't be ignored.
