Kevin Doets

50 WIN

Have to pick Doets here. He has been in fantastic form this season, having reached three quarter-finals, four semi-finals, and the final of the most recent ET event this weekend. He also won one of the most recent Players Championship events. Nijman has been ruling these events but suffered an early exit at the ET. Having won 61% of his legs in these events and with an overall average of 96.83, he should be considered one of the big contenders here.

Some value with Suljovic, who made the semi-final and quarter-final of the last two events. He disappointed me a bit at the European Tour in his home country last weekend, but still it's clear his form is on an uptrend. Let's not forget he's a former major title winner and has won two of these before.

Springer beat Nijman, averaging over 100 last round, and seems to be in great form. Nijman was one of the in-form players, having recently won a floor tournament. Rock, on the other hand, barely averaged over 90 to beat Kovács last round and has been very inconsistent lately. His poor form in the Premier League might show here as well. Value with the German.

Some value with Suljovic, who has been getting in better form lately with some good results on the floor. Wade, on the other hand, besides a UK Open final, only won one ET event game. Suljovic's 6-2 win over Menzies was clinical, and he averaged a solid 94.19. Wade has been dominating the head-to-head lately, but Suljovic was not at his best for a while and did knock Wade out of the World Championship when he was in 2021.

Value with the Irishman here, who has a remarkably good record against Cross, winning their last three encounters. O'Connor played well, beating Östlund last round 6-3 with a 94.16 average. Cross has been rather inconsistent and lost both of his two ET games so far this season. Given the head-to-head, any odds over 2.20 are value on O'Connor here.

Smith is still not at his best, but White has also thrown better darts in his career. Smith has a slightly higher overall average on the Players Championship Tour (90.51 vs. 89.28), but has won their last four encounters. On a big stage, he's also the more experienced player. Most importantly, Smith reached the final of the 11th Players Championship, and if he can replicate that form, he should be able to win by a margin.

Some value with Hurrell here, who won their only previous meeting. Zonneveld has been on fire at the start of the season and reached two European Tour semi-finals already. Lately, however, he has been struggling to get runs going. He was knocked out in the first round of the last event, and also on the Players Championship Tour he hasn't been able to get far. He only won two games in the last four events. Hurrell, on the other hand, has been picking up form lately after a very good run at the World Championship and the Masters. He's still rather inconsistent, but Zonneveld isn't in the best of form right now. Any odds over 2.30 is value for me.

Value with Kovacs, who isn't the best player, averaging below 90 in both his ET events so far this season. The Hungarian number 1 will be facing Pietreczko, who has been struggling with his form lately. He only averaged 80.46 in his loss on Monday, and at the Tuesday Players Championship event he even withdrew after just two legs. It has been rumored that "Pikachu" has been struggling with dartitis in that game. The German is the better player, but considering all of these factors, the value is with Kovacs here.

Xintong has won 3 ranking tournaments, but Selby also won one and took 2 invitational tournaments. He always plays his best snooker at the Crucible, where he won the title 4 times before. Last year he was knocked out in the first round and was struggling with his form and mental strength. I can see him making a comeback here, though. He could meet Trump in the quarterfinals, but is on the opposite side of the bracket from players like Xintong, Higgins, O'Sullivan, and Robertson.

Pretty good odds on Williams who is on the opposite side of the bracked from Xintong, Higgins, Robertson and O'Sullivan. He has won this tournament 3 times, with him making some kind of a comeback winning it in 2018, 15 years after his second win. Since then he reached 2 quarter finals, a semi final and a final (last year). This year he won the Xi'an Grand Prix and I believe he still has it in him.

Despite not having reached a final yet this season, Doets has been one of the top players on the floor. He is in 11th place in the averages and was ranked even higher a couple of weeks ago. That doesn't mean he has been underperforming lately, though. He reached the semi-final in both events last week. It's only a matter of time before he wins one of these.

Nijman reached five finals out of 12 events and won four of them. That means he won one in four Players Championship events, which is an amazing stat considering the number of players competing. He is one of the players with great stamina and one of the few who can average 100+ consistently. I think he is the rightful favorite here.

I didn't really trust Allen against Anda, who looked like the more in-form player. However, Allen proved me wrong, scoring three centuries and coming back from 5-2 behind. The head-to-head against Wilson is rather close, with Wilson leading 10-8. Wilson didn't really impress me in his win over Moody, with only two frames where he scored a 50+ break. His comeback was even more impressive, coming back from 7-3 behind. However, I also feel part of it was Moody getting nervous.

I can only see one winner here. Robertson won the Saudi Arabia Masters and reached three ranked semifinals this season. He still is one of the top players and a contender for the title here. Junxu, while one of the many talented Chinese players, isn't one of the best. He only reached one quarterfinal and only just won more games than he lost this season. He beat Robertson twice before, but in shorter formats, and the Aussie still leads the head-to-head 4-2.

I feel like this one could go either way, so for me the value is with the 9 years younger Chinese Yuelong. He reached the final of the English Open and got to two other semis this season. He won 35 of 52 games this season, including a win over Guodong at the Scottish Open. He also leads the head-to-head 4-3 and beat Holt in the qualifiers. Guodong didn't need to get through qualifiers and won the Wuhan Open this season. That tournament was in August, and his form has dipped a bit since then. His winning percentage is lower than his fellow Chinese, and with the head-to-head also being in Yuelong's favor, I give him the edge.

Schindler will have the crowd behind him, but in previous ET events that hasn't helped him that much. He hasn't won more than one consecutive ET game this season. Although he is a solid player, he is still one level lower than players like Clayton. "The Ferret" won the last Premier League event and averaged 106.78, beating qualifier Melderis yesterday. If he plays at the same level, Schindler will be no match for him. If he doesn't, he has still shown at that Premier League event on Thursday that he can also win ugly. Clayton won their last three encounters, and I think he'll win this one as well, with a margin.

Allen won the English Open and reached four ranking finals this season. Only one of them was this year, though, and Anda has also shown some good form lately, reaching the World Grand Prix final in February. He had no trouble coming through the qualifiers and looked impressive in his 10-3 win over Surety, scoring five tons. Allen overall had a higher winning percentage and, arguably, is the better player, but I think the difference between them is rather small. Based on recent form, I think the Chinese player has a good chance.

I'm not betting Rock straight up, as he hasn't been in top form lately. Especially at the Premier League, he had a very bad run. Also on the European Tour he hasn't had much success, losing out to Zonneveld in his second game in the last event he participated in. Zonneveld is the player Barry beat yesterday, and the young Irishman played well, averaging 95.73. However, Zonneveld's form has dipped a bit, and Barry is a rather inconsistent player. The thing that gives Rock the edge is that he won all of their previous encounters, and none of them went all the way to a decider.

I would not bet against Searle at odds under 1.6, as I see them with most brokers. But 1.67 for Nijman, who just won a Players Championship event, beat White last round and has a convincing head-to-head lead against Searle, does look good. He won all of their four encounters, and none of them were even close. Searle didn't play the last few floor tournaments, but was knocked out of the last European Tour event in his first game. Nijman checks all the boxes: better form, dominating the head-to-head, and simply a better player right now.

Have to side with the man in form here. Doets reached the semi-final of the last ET event, a run that might give him the edge to push on and get some good results on big stages. So far he has been one of the top performers on the floor, and I can see bigger things for him. His fellow Dutchman Wattimena is a great player who has had patches of strong form in which he can challenge the best. However, he doesn't seem to be in that good form right now. In the latest ET events he couldn't win more than one game, and in the two most recent Players Championship games he only won one match. With Doets also having won their last two encounters, both last year, I give a clear advantage to Doets. Wattimena has great potential, so I wouldn't bet on him under 1.70.

De Decker has only won one ET game this season, and that was at the first event against a local qualifier who averaged under 80. After that he lost every game, and also at other tournaments he couldn't get any streak together. He hasn't always played badly, but his opponent is in much better form. Ratajski reached the semi-final in the last ET event and beat Hurtz 6-3 with a 90 average. That could be enough to beat De Decker, but I expect him to step it up even more. The Polish Eagle also won their last encounter.
