So male horses hold edges in these 3yo-only races, and there's only a few to choose from. Fav and my selection have similar profiles: three runs at 2yo, but bred to be much better and are tackling handicaps for the first time. Money is strong for Fav, but this is a much less fashionable 'gambling' stable, and I'm sure it represents the value.

A strong, travelling Frankel horse and I really think he'll prove better suited to sprinting. He was just left to get on with it after racing too freely over further in Dubai. He has since been gelded and is now in handicap company for the first time. That will show him in a better light. He did win here over CD on debut last season, and I'm sure he'll make a mockery of a mark in the 90s before the season ends.

Plenty of money suggests he's ready to go, and it's certain he'll develop into a much better 3yo. Still ungelded would suggest he's working potentially much better than 82 anyway.

Interesting pitching the novice here, and it's an indication that they feel he's very well treated, I think. Comes here having been freshened up with a nice long break, and the trainer certainly knows how to ready one for a race like this. Very impressive last time. Has progressed nicely and will surely make a nice chaser. This certainly looks like one big final effort over hurdles before a chasing campaign next season.

Comes here fresh after missing the Festival, and as the only female in the field I think that allowance could easily bring her into it. Was progressing nicely early in the season, an easy winner of a graded hurdle, and with most of her rivals returning from hard Cheltenham races, I think it'll give her a chance.

Prolific winner in France over the larger French-style fences, and the national fences could easily spark him into life. He's classy on his day. Considered good enough to compete in the King George; well backed there too, and now back in a handicap could really suit. Despite top weight, these fences allow horses to carry performances where emphasis is more on jumping.

Target trainer will have him primed for a big run after deciding to miss Cheltenham. He's a solid performer in this grade, and coming here fresh will give him the edge over Heart Wood and Grey Dawning. He likes this good ground, and this 2m4f is his optimum.

The mares allowance came good yesterday and hoping it'll prove significant here. Progressive mare who got bogged down in the mud at Cheltenham and hopefully can bounce back . Mares often spark back to life in the spring and this is certainly a weaker then usual renewal .

This race favours a progressive young horse like him, and especially this one for a trainer with a good Aintree record. He has a fall to overcome, but that probably spared him a hard slog in heavy ground last time. With a low weight on better ground, I think he'll certainly feature in the frame.

I'm a big believer in this mares' allowance. That 5 lbs is a big advantage, and she'll run well. Still very lightly raced and progressing nicely. Wisely avoided pitching her in the deep end at Cheltenham, and being fresh will help, as will a bit of sun, which can usually be beneficial to fillies.

I think he's too classy for this lot. Pattern-class potential, anyway. Stables' 3yos have started the season well, and this looks like a modest handicap. Excuses when tried in a Group 2 race, but realistically he was always going to make a better 3yo.

Ran three excellent maiden races, outperforming his odds, and he can do that here. Stable targets horses like him in these races, and I think he'll be ready to run after a break. That maiden form was better than anything else he has achieved, and I see no reason why he wouldn't improve at 3yo.
