His last win was in April last year on good ground at Sandown over 3 and a half miles. Has been running against Grade 1 horses since on ground softer than ideal at trips from 2 miles 3 furlongs to 3 miles. Looks like he prefers longer trips on better ground.

2 wins out of 3 at Aintree, only defeat on course was in a Grade 1 and finished second. Won this race pretty handily 12 months ago and has had a wind op since then. Last run can be discounted as clearly doesn't like the track.

Clearly loves this track, is 3 wins from 3 around here and 2 of those wins were on good ground so he clearly loves the conditions he will get today. First try at 3 miles under rules but did win a 3 mile point to point on a sharp track so stamina not an issue for me.

Can't win at the Cheltenham Festival but looks pretty mighty everywhere else, including in this race last year that he won pretty easily. Not the strongest field today, as you can pick holes in El Fabiolo's jumping, Matata's class, and Protektorat's age and ground preference.

Disappointing run last time out in the Supreme but all of his wins have come with today's jockey on board, and he didn't ride him that day. Obviously has a lot of class, only finding Sir Gino too good on his French hurdling debut, winning his maiden hurdle by 62 lengths and having won a Grade 2.

A novice who sneaks in off bottom weight and has plenty of experience over hurdles. Has run in races with big fields before and has done all of his winning on soft or good to soft ground. Very consistent and comes into today's race fit.

Won the mares Grade 1 at Cheltenham in impressive style last time out, and while she may have lost to Constitution Hill on Boxing Day that was over an inadequate trip and she was only beaten 2 and a half lengths.
