Ran very well in the Leinster National last time out. Down to his lowest official rating and has run in big-field handicaps.

Unbeaten since joining the Nicholls yard. Only 6 years old, so open to further improvement. Won impressively last time out and does not look like the handicapper has got him in his grasp yet.

Won this race last year. Won the Irish Gold Cup last time out. Form figures at Cheltenham are 211. Hard to make a case for anything else in the field against him.

Likes this track, having won 3 races out of 4 here. Won the Cleeve Hurdle here last time out, which traditionally is a good indicator for today's race. It has been won by the likes of Inglis Drever, Big Bucks, Thistlecrack, and Paisley Park, who all went on to win the Stayers. As a 7-year-old, still plenty of scope for improvement, so a big run is expected today.

9 wins out of 10 over hurdles. Has won over course and distance twice. Arguably far too good for this race, but probably limited options regarding her ideal trip.

Four wins from four runs in races between 2 miles 3 furlongs and 2 miles 5 furlongs. Has won on good and good-to-soft ground. Ran well in a Grade 2 race last time over 3 miles, but this looks to be a better trip for him.

Impressive in the Champion Bumper here last year. While she was beaten on her hurdling debut, she looked to have improved considerably on her second run. Definitely the one to beat.

You don't bring in a six-time Champion Flat jockey for no reason. Noel Meade is a shrewd trainer, and he wouldn't be wasting Colin Keane's time unless he thought he was going to win.

A 7-year-old that is still only very lightly raced. Has won over the distance and has won on good ground. Hasn't run in a big field before, but if he takes to it, he looks the progressive type that is usually required to win this race.

2 out of 2 wins over this course and distance. Only one run this season, but that was a win in the Velka Pardubice, which is a race run over a course that is even more unusual than this. It is also run over half a mile further, so stamina is not an issue.

First-time headgear and first time in a handicap at this stage of his career is an interesting choice for this horse. Add in that the stable jockey is on him and not some apprentice to take off more weight, and that would indicate they expect this horse to run well and be suited by the conditions.

Jumps well for a novice chaser, having won a Grade 2 last time. Ran very well in the Albert Bartlett at last year's Festival, so the course holds no surprises for her. In receipt of the mares' allowance, which takes off 7 lbs.

Won a Grade 1 last time out, and if he were with one of the big stables he'd be a quarter of the price. He has won on all sorts of different ground, so today's conditions won't be an issue.

Lucinda Russell knows how to train a staying chaser, and King of Answers looks like the answer to the questions posed by this race. Hopefully the fractionally slower pace they will be going will help with his jumping.

In good form in his last two runs and seems to be having a late-career renaissance. You need an older horse who knows how to run in a big field, and this year could easily be his year.

Jess Harrington isn't sending one to make up the numbers. Arguably looked best suited on good ground on debut at Cork. Has run in fields of 10+ runners on three occasions, so a big field is not an issue.

Looks to be a battle between Lulamba and Kopek Des Bordes. Lulamba has won a Grade 1 against novice chasers and a Grade 2 in open company, and hasn't shown anything but a winning attitude. Kopek, on the other hand, has shown a tendency to pull hard, and there was that run two races ago where he jumped left and no reason was found for why he ran so badly. So, on the whole, I have to take Lulamba.

Only defeat over hurdles came when he didn't make the running. A win over 2 miles at Chepstow shows that he knows how to handle an undulating course, so no worries in that regard. Philip Hobbs knows how to win races at Cheltenham and has won this race in the past with Menorah.
