Twice runner-up on his only outings to date, Military Cross looks likely to make it third time lucky today. John Gosden's gelding was denied on the post over today's C+D, finishing well last month, before following that up with a second at Ascot in a 10k race 12 days ago. This looks substantially weaker.

SPORTINGSILVERMINE is nothing if not consistent and has been placed off this mark in all of his last 3 runs. Not getting a clear run when 2nd at Newcastle last time, my selection is well worth another go now racing over two furlongs shorter today.

Doubts about all of them here, but CHESTNUT PETE looks the more solid. Disappointed last time, but looked to be going the right way previous to that and has been given a break since. If the first-time visor works for Redbridge Rambler, he would go close.

The favorite Almazhar Garde is respected but a tad too short for me at the evening 2/1 quote. All the others are capable enough if in the mood, but at 8/1 YES DAY is the value call. Given a break to freshen up after two poor efforts, he had looked decent before then and has run well before in small fields.

This is as bad as it gets, and I wouldn't want to be taking a short price about any of these. The favourite fell on his only outing over fences, yet is 15/8. He could win, but he won't be carrying my money at that price. Lyness Dancer has bits and bobs of form but again is plenty short enough, so I am going to go for a speculative punt on the 25-race maiden BAHTIYAR. There was just a glimmer of ability when a close 5th last time on only his second run over fences, and with the half mile more sure to suit and the jockey taking 7lb off what was already a featherweight, he is no forlorn hope.

At the price, Jackpot Cash looks like one to take on, given that he is an inconsistent jumper of a fence. The most solid option here looks to be the top weight MIDNIGHT JEWEL, and the 6/1 looks fair. A winner last time and 5 times a winner in similarly small fields, the selection is a game front runner and, given an error-free round, will be hard to pass. Peptalking is improving and looks a threat.

Favourite Dreams Adozen could get her own way in front, but needs to, and is worth opposing at the current price. At 10/1, FABULEUX DU CLOS looks worth chucking a few shekels at. A good 2nd at Catterick on soft ground just 5 days ago, the 10-year-old has a featherweight and is well capable of outrunning this price.

An Arsenal win of course, is the obvious call,indeed at this stage, I would have them down as the most likely league winners, but they have a few injuries, and you won't get rich backing them at 5s on. West Ham haven't been great. They struggle to score, struggle to defend, but in the hope that their new manager will bring about an improvement in both determination and organization, the 14/1 looks overpriced. Away win.

Not sure Man Utd should be near 1/2 on to beat anyone at present. Even though in normal circumstances you would expect them to win this, the price makes no appeal at all. New signing Sesko has been largely disappointing, and I can see a fully fired up Sunderland, in tricky weather, being a big problem here. At the 5/1, it is worth taking a punt that they could even nick it.

While undoubtedly a good side, I'm not sure that Bournemouth have done enough to deserve an odds-on quote for this. Both teams have the same goal difference and are separated by only 3 points in the league, so Fulham has to be the value call.
