This horse was going nicely before needing over a year off. Its two runs since coming back have been disappointing, but last time it weakened from 3 out after being very fresh. Perhaps that will have had a settling effect, and in a smaller race, he can go well.

The trainer of this one seems to be in decent enough form. Their last runner won, and this is their only runner of the day. The horse itself hasn't done that much. It was 2nd last time out in a 4-horse race where the favorite fell, but its best run has been on yielding in Ireland. With the forecast soft going, we might see it go well.

This one is one of two being run by bang in form Emma Lavelle. It won 3 starts ago in a clas 4, and then has run down the field in two calls to chases under H Cobden those in class 2. The trainer returns to a 10lb claimer today who has a fantastic record so far this year, out of the frame only once so far from 10 runs. The horse is dropped to a class 3 and has chances.

This one has won 4 times and never finished in the frame in the rest. So, it very much needs to be caught when all is going its way. I think tonight might be that. He is at the lowest weight since getting one, and the trainer has put up a 5lb apprentice. So, weight looks good, and this is a much easier race than those he has been contesting.

This Skelton runner is quite interesting. Winner and second 4 and 5 starts ago, the win in a class 5 and the second in a class 4. It returns to hurdles after a couple of failed efforts over fences. It has always been ridden by Harry Skelton, but today when Harry is available, it is ridden by a 7lb claimer. I will try it.
