Clive Cox has had a very good Goodwood with a win, a 2nd, and a 3rd with the two placed horses in fields of 20 in outside stalls, conditions similar to today. Star Anthem was a bit slow getting started this season but has improved with each race and is hopefully fully fit by now. He ran in Group races last autumn and didn't disgrace himself and is running off a pound lighter today. He has the services of Rossa Ryan in the plate, and he was riding one of the placed horses earlier in the week.

Dyonisos has only moved over to Britain in the last week but was in good form in France with three wins and a 2nd from four outings since March. Changed hands for €97,000 so must be well thought of. Won at Dieppe in June running to an RPR of 92. Most of his races are over 6f, so hopefully the drop in trip will mean he has something left over at the business end of the race. Diamondonthehill is trained by Dr. Richard Newland and Jamie Insole, who have a 38% strike rate here at Goodwood. He was regularly in the places on the All Weather in the winter since coming to this trainer and has followed that up with three places on turf. On the same mark again but has a good apprentice in Elizabeth Gale taking off 5 lbs today. Has form on distances from 6f to a mile and on goings from Good to GF and Standard. Has a high stall in 15, and that was where the best performances were yesterday.

Enchanting has good form, having not been out of the frame in five races here, including a 5th of 16 at Goodwood, which is a big plus. She also has a very good stall in 8, which is another plus at a course where stall position counts a lot. Up in class today, but has been racing in valuable races. Won her penultimate race here in May, recording an RPR of 103. Also has going to suit. Hollie Doyle has been in the plate for all but one of her races.

Distance is his usual and he has form on soft. David Loughnane must have faith in him as he is the only horse he has brought over from Stoke Heath in Shropshire, but he has another two entered at Galway on Friday.

Korker has won and placed in 19 of his 38 races, including a 2nd in this race last year, and is 2lb lower today. So the talent is there; it is just a case of switching it on again. He also has the 7lb allowance of young jockey Jack Nicholls, who has ridden him the last 3 times, with a 3rd of 16 here at York in May in his first ride on him. 6 furlong is his optimum distance. Outside stall in 18 is not much of a help though.

Considering that this is a Class 4 race, very few have any form at this level. But Arantes Nascimento was a close 3rd of 13 by 1/2 length at Chester in his penultimate race and followed that with a 2nd by a head at Thirsk. He finished in the places for all four of his runs for Gemma Tutty. He has changed stables in the meantime for £10,000, so thought of quite highly. 7f is his usual distance and going to his liking. Tom Marquand retains the ride.

Secret Beach has improved with each race since having wind surgery, culminating with a win last time out at York over 12f. Trainer B F Brookfield is in excellent form with two winners and a place from his four runners this last fortnight. Distance hopefully will not be a problem for Secret Beach, as he has been in the places for all four of his races between 12f and 15f. He has only encountered soft going once, and that was his last race before his wind operation, so it can be ignored. Alasdair Rawlinson takes charge tonight.
