Trainer Charlie Longsdon is better known for his jumpers, but Parramount is a winner in both codes, including a C&D winner. Parramount drops down into 0-70 class for the first time. If he is allowed to dictate the pace and wind it up through the race, he would have to be a big player here.

Future Bucks is having another run in a Novice Hurdle race where both she and two other horses carry a winners' penalty. After two runs in France, she had a wind operation over the summer and impressed with the manner of her victory on her debut for the Snowden stable at Windsor in November. She found 2m6f on heavy ground too much of a task to defy a penalty last time out but ran well to be third. She should appreciate this drop in trip on less taxing ground, and IMO she is a major player here.

With the Paul Nicholls yard going nicely and conditions that suit, Red Risk at 18/1 is, in my opinion, a big price. Young Freddie Keighley claims his 7 lb allowance, leaving Red Risk on bottom weight of 11 stone, which could count over this 3m trip. I think he will be in the mix, and with four places up for grabs he is a value each-way punt.

With 3 wins and 7 places, Summergrounds is more than capable in this company. The consistent, lightly raced 10yo (3 second places in his last 3 runs) has the benefit of Miss Ella McGarry taking a huge 10 lbs off his back, which could make all the difference on softening ground.

This CL6 handicap for 3yo only could turn out a lottery, as there is no pace that I can see in the race. At a price, a chance is taken on the Dylan Cuhna-trained Mythical Night drawn in 5. I can see Mademoiselle Belle from trap 6 taking an early lead, and if today's jockey Cieren Fallon can tuck in behind, these two could avoid the carnage of eight hold-up horses trying to finish off the race. Mythical Night will be sharper now following three months off, with a promising run at Chelmsford last month.
