I am 65 years young from Newcastle and a TOON supporter. I don't have one particular thing that leads me to have a bet, it's many different pieces of a jigsaw, plus I don't mind what price it is, if I think I can turn a profit, then I will put it up.

The Charlie Longsdon-trained Molto Bene hasn't followed up in her last 2 runs after winning a 17-runner Class 4 handicap over course and distance in November 24. However i'm hoping the return to Chepstow, a drop back in trip and down 2lbs to a mark of 114 will help the cause.. Her run in December 24 at Cheltenham in a Class 2 handicap was a good effort considering the standard of the field, with the winner going on to win the Martin Pipe at the Festival off a mark of 141.

The Jamie Snowden-trained Passing Well has been knocking on the door. He ran well to be 2nd over 2m4f on his seasonal reappearance and was 2nd again back at Sandown over 3m on his next start. Stepped up to 3m1f, he was a close 3rd on Boxing Day and improved yet again when beaten a head over 3m4f in the Surrey National before he was 3rd last time out in the Eider Chase at Newcastle 21 days ago. There is still plenty of scope off his current mark of 126, and he should develop into a smart staying handicap chaser. The 8-year-old gelding looks to be a solid each-way play at a decent price.

He wasn't seen again until March 2024. He has just 5 runs since and is unexposed in this grade. He had wind surgery between November and December 2024, and on his second run back, which was last time out, he was a creditable 3rd out of 9 in this grade off 105. He led before 2 out, was headed 2 out, ridden between the last two, lost 2nd soon after, and weakened in 3rd, beaten 12 lengths by Badbury Rings over 3 miles 22 days ago. The winner of that race has gone on to win again. Based on that run, the drop back to this extended 2 miles 5 furlongs trip today looks to be a good move, and the addition of first-time cheekpieces could also be beneficial. The Warren Greatrex-trained Largy Force won a bumper in Ireland before moving to the Greatrex yard. The lightly raced 7-year-old Workforce mare has only had 4 starts over fences. She just got run out of it last time, finishing 2nd, beaten 3 1/2 lengths by It's Easy in a chase at Leicester over 2m 4f (soft) 22 days ago. She is joint top-rated for this Class 5 Handicap Chase over 19f, and if running to her mark, she won't be far away.

The Rebecca Menzies-trained Odd Socks Havana is 4 lbs better off with the re-opposing Pallas Lord for a narrow defeat over 1m here on Tuesday. The 7yo Havana Gold gelding can race off the same mark of 52, equating to bottom weight. Young Kaiya Fraser takes off a further 3 lbs to aid the cause, plus OSH is a C&D winner.

This looks like an open Class 6 Handicap with only 2 lbs separating 6 of the 8 runners. The Ben Haslam-trained Sandret is a C&D winner and only 2 lbs above that winning mark of 58. The excellent Andrew Mullen is in the saddle, and the 9-year-old Zebedee gelding shouldn't be far away.
