The Jamie Snowden-trained, Gavin Sheehan-ridden Red Acres Max won an Irish point on debut at Dromahane, and the form of that race is looking very strong. Jamie reports that he is a fine-looking horse who works well at home. He was 2nd on his racecourse debut in a bumper at Fontwell; the winner has franked the form since, winning under a penalty. Unfortunately the stable confidence was circulating early about Supremely West and his chances here, which has seen his price more than halve. I managed to nick a bit of 8/1 early doors, though. I think Dan's played a blinder with SW's handicap mark, and off just 135 this feels like a Skelton handicap plot. However, there are 26 runners so it's no walkover. With only seven runners going to post, this looks a match-up between Wodhooh from the Gordon Elliott stable and the Willie Mullins-trained Jade De Grugy. Wodhooh was last year's Martin Pipe winner and gained a deserved Grade 1 victory when beating the reopposing Feet Of A Dancer last time out. If this race was about the trainers, then Willie is miles ahead, winning this race 12 times to Gordon's one win. Bambino Fever

The Mullins/Townsend team have another live chance with last year's Champion Bumper winner Bambino Fever. The 6yo Jukebox Jury mare, after four bumper wins, made a seamless transition to hurdling despite going down by 1/2l to the re-opposing Oldschool Outlaw, who did have a fitness edge over the Mullins mare on that occasion. She made no mistakes, although she didn't beat much. She travelled smoothly and again showed her liking for a quicker surface, which she should get here. I fully expect her to reverse that form, and Oldschool Outlaw looks a good bet for the forecast.
