The Roger Varian-trained, Ray Dawson-ridden Little Dorrit has only had three runs. Her only win came in an unspectacular novice event on the AW at Kempton in July. However, she stepped up to look like she could be useful in a Listed event at York last time out. She only finished 5/9 but showed an excellent attitude and was only beaten by 2.75 lengths at the finish. This looks like an open and a similar run in this Class 2 handicap, makes her a value each-way punt at around 9/1.

The David O’Mera-trained Leadman needs things to fall right. He showed on his penultimate start at Newbury when finishing 2/11 in this grade that he’s handicapped to win one of these Class 2 handicaps. He can be forgiven last time out having a bad draw but finished well 8/16 beaten 3 1/2 lengths to Bullet Point. The 5-year-old Kingman gelding acts on any going, the trip is fine, and should get a nice lead in the race from trap 20 by Mister Bluebird drawn in 15.

The Danny Murphy-trained Erosandpsyche has had his injury problems and has only had seven runs in the last three years. He looked to retain a significant chunk of his ability when third in a Listed contest at Cork in June on his debut for his current yard. He has disappointed in his two runs since, but both have come in more competitive races. He likes to front run, and Tipperary rewards prominent racers. Plus, his record at the track is 11612. He was 2nd, beaten a nose in this race 3 years ago. I think he is worth an each-way play at decent odds.

Otago is not in the best of form at the minute, and I wouldn't consider backing him anywhere, with the exception being here at Brighton. His record reads 5 wins and 5 places from 25 at the course and 5 wins and 2 places from 15 over C&D. In-form Epsom trainer Jim Boyle sends Otago on the relatively short journey from his South Hatch Stables to the Brighton course, and regular jockey Charlie Bennett is in the saddle. His record is 7 wins and 9 places from 48 rides. If it's a going day, then a place is not out of the question.
