The Dutch have impressed at this tournament, going through their group with a game to spare and then beating Romania (group winners themselves) 3-0 in the second round. Their only blip came against Austria in their final group game, but qualification was already secured at that stage. Turkey, on the other hand, had to work hard to make it through the group, and struggled to beat the Czechs who played most of that game with ten men. They also barely made it past Austria in round 2, in a game they could have easily lost if Austria had taken their numerous chances. Turkey played just one top team at this tournament so far when they lost comfortably to Portugal, and this should be the end of the road for them. Their disciplinary record hasn't been great either and they go into this game with two players suspended, unlike the Dutch who have a full squad at their disposal.

Romania go into this game as group winners and the Netherlands as one of the third placed teams, but the Dutch impressed more when it mattered so far. The Dutch secured qualification after just two games, beating Poland and drawing with pre-tournament favourites France, in a game they came close to winning. With qualification sealed, they then lost to Austria. Romania, on the other hand, sweated until the last minute of the last group game to qualify, only winning the group thanks to the other result going their way. They only beat Ukraine at this tournament, and were soundly beaten by Belgium, who are no better than the Netherlands.

This is the biggest mismatch of the entire second round. Spain cruised through their group as the only team at the tournament that won all three of their games, and that's despite resting much of their team in the third game. Georgia, on the other hand, had to work hard until the very last minute of their last group game and will have two days less to rest than Spain heading into this game. These two teams met in the qualifying for this tournament, and Spain won twice, 10-2 on aggregate. There is nothing to suggest that Spain won't win here again.

After making the semifinals at Euro 2020, Denmark have been one of the biggest disappointments at this tournament so far. They scraped through the group without a single win, despite facing the likes of Slovenia and Serbia, both of whom could have even beaten them. Germany, on the other hand, made it through with a game to spare, and will go into this game with two days' more rest than Denmark. Germany were by far the top scorers of the group stage, while none of the teams still in the competition scored fewer than Denmark. Denmark may be tough to break down defensively, but I expect Germany to find a way through eventually.

When two teams need a draw to qualify, the game usually ends in a draw, even when it's not fixed. In this case, both Romania and Slovakia started the competition with a win, before being brought down to earth by defeats in their second games. This, coupled with the fact that a draw is enough for both of them, will make them both approach the game cautiously, and this is unlikely to change as the game progresses, as both teams get nearer to qualification.

Germany host this tournament and couldn't have asked for a better group. They've been through some turmoil in recent years, but have finally found some form heading into the opening game. They've won three of their four friendlies this year, including one away to France and one at home to the Netherlands. On the other hand, their group opponents are not in great shape. Scotland have won just one of their last nine games, and that was against Gibraltar. Switzerland have won two of their last eight, both against teams that didn't even qualify for the Euros. Hungary seem in better form, but haven't faced a tough opponent yet this year. Germany may not win all three group games, but even seven points should be enough to win the group.

Scotland may be ahead of Hungary going into this game, but Hungary have shown more in both their games so far. They were unlucky to lose v Switzerland and Germany needed some help from the referee to break them down. Hungary went into the tournament with just one defeat in their last 14 games, and that was in a friendly as they qualified undefeated. Scotland won just one of their last ten games, and that was against Gibraltar. I expect Hungary to win, but this bet won't be a losing one even if they draw.
