I fancied this for the 3yo dash at Epsom, it was pulled out that day, I'm assuming because of the softening ground.
This one ran a cracker over CD last time despite being drawn on the flank and losing ground early as a result. Drawn 7 today which is a nice draw and gives his rider options, ground today looks perfect, can go well at a nice price.

From a stable that historically does well with their older horses at this time of year, this one has improved with every run this season and went close last time over CD. He has a 4lb pull with the winner that day for less than two lengths, having got caught wide. I'm hoping the jockey learns from that and can get him tucked in from the 7 box, especially with the ground much more in his favor today (4 of 5 turf wins have come on good/soft or slower).

Won this race in 2022 and has a nice high draw, wouldn't want too much rain but hopefully it will come later in the afternoon. Last win came off 95 and effectively runs off 91 today with claimer taking off 7lb. Had excuses last time out, I'm hoping he can blast out grab the rail and make all.

Fitting a hood seems to have worked the oracle with this one. His form figures read 1221361 with a hood. That included a CD win off 57 and a last time win off an effective 60. Runs today off an effective 58 with a claimer who has won on him previously taking off 7lb. With an OK draw in 8 and in one of only a few who come into the race with any kind of form.

Germany haven't lost at home since November 2023 and of the 10 games since they have won 8. Whilst this fixture doesn't crop up as much as you might imagine you still have to go back to the year 2000 to see a Portuguese victory.
Portugal don't always travel well, they have failed to win in Scotland, Croatia and Denmark and only scored 1 goal in the process.

Reasonably unexposed 7-year-old who has been pretty consistent since going over hurdles. Hit the bar a few times off marks in the low 100s last season on this type of ground and trip. Back with a solid run after 7 months off last time. Class 5 looks his bag at this point in his career and should still be capable of improvement. Can go well in a race with plenty of dead wood.

Pretty useful back in the day and showed he'd retained plenty of ability when winning easily first time up for Appleby. A little disappointing since, but first-time pieces on today and claimer taking him to an effective mark 2lb lower than his last winning one. Some of the in-form runners have tricky draws. I'll take a chance that this guy is ready to go, although the price suggests otherwise. Won twice last year off this mark and higher. Record in class 4 on turf reads 111221. All his best form is on ground with some give in, so tonight's softening ground should suit. High draw should be a plus on this type of ground. Let's hope he's wound up for this.

A bit of a "cliff" horse for me but won off 72 in September last year in class 4, runs off an effective 54 today in a class 6 on the back of a solid run where he was outstayed by a horse proven over further who has gone on to win again since.

I put this one in the notebook after its 4th at Newcastle. It travelled all over them that day but just didn't get the gap. I was hoping for a step back up in trip. It didn't get that at Ascot but ran another solid race on maybe the wrong side of the track. I think this race will be run to suit. The step up to 7f will suit, and some of those at the top of the handicap still have questions to answer as 3-year-olds.

I think a few of those at the head of the market will like a bit more cut in the ground. This guy is in flying form, and whilst those wins have been at a lower level, it did win a maiden over CD off 81 and has an effective mark of 77 with a good claimer taking off 3lb.

One of the least exposed in the race, has run to a decent level to date. The two that finished in front of her at Kempton are now rated in the mid to high 80s, and the two she split at Newmarket are rated 78 and 88, both suggesting this opening mark of 76 is more than fair if she's ready to go. The trainer could be in better form but does have a 27% strike rate with his 3-year-olds at the track.

The selection went close on numerous occasions last season over trips between 1m2f and 1m4f, most of those efforts were off marks around 80. Down to 77 today which is just 1lb higher than his last win, his best form has come on this type of ground and he's gone well here in the past including a win off 80. Murphy is a good jockey booking and trainer has had 2 winners from last 10 runners.

Ran a cracker in the Listed race at Ayr where he was trying to give 5lb to now 106 and 96 rated horses, that was on Good ground as was his Novice win. A winner when last seen in handicap company, since then has failed in Listed and Group company over slightly further. Back to the minimum trip today, cheek pieces tried for the first time, can go well at a nice price.

Hasn't won for a while but is dropping to a mark that should see him winning soon. Hit the bar on several occasions last year off marks in the low to mid 80s, including a second over CD off 82. He's effectively 3 lb better off for 1L with American Affair on their run at Musselburgh last year. Disappointing last time but bet into favoritism, he could easily make amends today at a massive price.

Had to do it the hard way last time on the AW, a run that was even more impressive considering he was off the track for almost a year prior to that. Royal Ascot was mentioned after his win at Goodwood around this time last year, so they think the horse has ability that might take him further than a 0-95 class 3 at York. The trainer does well with his younger horses at this time of year, and this one can frank that this afternoon.

Course winner who was running solid races in Group and Listed company last year. His handicap runs were off marks in the low 100s, and he went close on several occasions. Has done all his winning at 5f, but 6f looks his trip now he's a 6yo. He was staying on in the 6f Listed race at the track last year. Claimer takes his effective mark to 95 today, and he comes into the race with a couple of runs under his belt. Way too big at 18s.

Hasn't won for a while but has been knocking on the door this season. Track record reads 17453 with four of those runs being either wins or defeats of 1l 1/2L and less. Down to last winning mark and drop into class 3 should suit, 2 wins and 4 placed efforts from 10 runs in this grade. 6f looks his trip win 8 of his 10 wins coming at this distance and has a nice low draw which I think is important here when the ground is fast.
