Finished well down the field in the Paddy Power Chase at Punchestown in December, but I believe that was owed more to the inexperience of the claimer on board rather than the ability of the horse. Having said that, anything above 2.7f does appear to be a challenge. So, back at 2.4f and with a more experienced jockey on board, we should see significant improvement at a price.

Got the better of Lossiemouth at Leopardstown last month, having finished behind her in 2nd at the same track in December. This could turn into quite a tactical race between the front three in the market, with The New Lion also having a good shout. I expect it to be a great battle between the three of them, with Brighterdaysahead just getting up at the line.

Progressive type who was second behind Malanga at Haydock last month but is now 6 lbs better off. Should give a good account. Hasn't finished outside the top three in five races to date, and another place at a decent price is good enough for me.

An optimistic punt rather than an informed bet! A decent flat horse who, while not excelling, has shown ability in only three previous hurdle races. The last of these, a maiden last month at Punchestown, he won with ease. Admittedly, this race is completely different gravy, but you always have to assume a Mullins horse is in with a chance.
