Long term football bettor (used to do the pools for my grandad way back in the 1970s), which is arguably my strongest area, but I'm also interested in horses and American sports, especially the NFL. Low stakes poker grinder across various sites, I also occasionally run stats based system trials on OLBG.

Playing this as a weekend double with a Leicester win on Saturday. I'd say Over +3.5 might also be worth a punt.

There's value here as Schalke have won four of their last five by an average of 1.25 goals and seem to have improved after struggling against the drop last season. Hannover's home form so far is skewed a little as with the exception of Kaiserslautern, they've not played anyone in the top half of the table. So this might be a tight game with few opportunities. I'd be surprised if Hannover lost though.

Cheltenham have the worst away defense and worst away goal difference in the fourth tier, which is usually a sure sign that a team is awful. Gillingham were surprisingly beaten by Harrogate in their last game at Priestfield, and I'm sure that won't happen again if Gareth Ainsworth has anything to do with it. Might be a few goals in this one, but I'm leaving that market alone.

Statistically speaking, this is a bit of a head-scratcher. If you remove Brommapojkarna's incredible 6-4 comeback home win over Norrköping in August, this game *might* produce fewer than 2.5 goals. But that's currently at a price higher than I'm comfortable with. I think the key factor here is that Hacken are clearly concentrating on the Conference League this season, but neither club is safe from either relegation or the playoffs. I would definitely think about laying a mine at nearer 1.40 as this looks as if it might go either way on this market.
13:00 AIK v IFK Varnamo

AIK

150 WIN

Will be playing this as a double with over 2.5 goals in the later game between Brommapojkarna and Hacken, but I do think it's worth pointing out that AIK's undefeated record at home combined with Varnamo's not winning away all season is a HUGE trap, especially with a win for the hosts at such a low price. On paper AIK should win easily, but football isn't played on paper :-)
