Andy Sullivan

25 EW

Andy Sullivan didn't get to play in the Men's Olympics event this year, but he has had some consistently good finishes in past years at this tournament. He finished in 16th place last season, and before that, he posted six consecutive top 25 finishes here in Paris. Not the longest off the tee, but he has an accurate shots to green game, and at 71.00, he looks worthy of each-way interest this week.

Jordan Smith

25 EW

Jordan Smith has been in good recent form on this tour. He has a strong record at this event, and finished runner up in this tournament last year. His accuracy in shots to the green looks ideally suited to this course. Each way chance.

Matthieu Pavon

25 EW

Matthieu Pavon has had a great season, culminating in making it into the top thirty on the PGA Tour. His form has dipped slightly in recent weeks, but with his crowd support, I expect him to do well at this tournament.

Victor Perez

25 EW

Victor Perez played this course well when representing the host country in the Olympics in the Summer. His form has been steady rather than spectacular in recent competitions, with a couple of top 40 finishes. Has the type of game that is suitable to the contours and layout of this course.

Matthew Baldwin

1st Round Leader

25 EW

English player Matthew Baldwin has been allotted an 8.35 a.m start time and he can post an early score that will place him at the forefront of the first round leaderboard. At the Alfred Dunhill he went five under after the first round but unfortunately his scoring in the final 36 holes let him down. I cannot see him challenging for the title but he has a big chance each way in the first round leader market.

Thomas Detry

1st Round Leader

25 EW

Thomas Derry has played consistent golf throughout the year and has clinched a top fifty spot in the PGA Tour for next year. He narrowly missed out on winning the Texas Open, finishing fourth and losing out by just one shot. He also had another fourth-place finish at the PGA Championship. He has played this course five times, finishing in 8th place in 2019. This course suits his accuracy to the green, and with an early first-round start, he can get on the leaderboard after the opening round.

Thorbjorn Olesen

1st Round Leader

25 EW

Danish player Thorbjorn Olesen made his debut in this tournament back in 2011, finishing overall runner-up to Frenchman Thomas Levet. He played the course well in this summer's Olympics event, and after a strong start, ended up in 14th place. He has an early first-round tee time and can be among the leaders after the first 18 holes.

Yannik Paul

1st Round Leader

25 EW

Y Annick Paul has been given an early first round tee time which could turn out to be advantageous with the forecast weather. He has had two top eight finishes at this event in the last couple of years. In both events he started with strong first round s. His approach to the green and putting has improved significantly. He is in fine recent form ,finishing 19th at the Dunhill Links and 18th at the BMW PGA Championship.
