Showed plenty of ability when finishing 2nd of 13 at York last month in debut. Improvement likely and should be there or thereabouts.

Cost 650,000 guineas. Stable does okay with newcomers, and this doesn't look too hot a race. Must have a great chance.

Arbaawy is a 2-year-old bay colt, trained by John Butler, and will be ridden by David Egan. He carries an official rating of 79 and comes into this after two solid second-placed efforts in maiden/novice company ??' most recently at Windsor over 1 mile on soft ground, and before that at Newmarket over 7f on good ground. Those runs show he’s progressively learning and responding to his racing, especially over trips in the 7f??'1m range. Stepping back into a confined maiden with only up to three prior runs, staying at a mile looks likely to play to his strengths??'allowing him more time to settle before finishing strongly. With his recent form both credible and improving, trainer Jon Butler appears to have him well-ready. Arbaawy looks like one of the main contenders here and offers strong each-way value in a field where those with experience of getting close before tend to perform well.

EDDAARI is the standout for me in this field. A New Bay colt costing £375,000 in a class 2 at Yarmouth should have attracted a lot more attention than he appears to have (good for us!!). Conditions are unlikely to be an issue here, and Simon & Ed Crisford's 40% strike rate at the track should not be ignored. With the yard's two-year-olds commanding a lot of respect in 2025 (29.63% SR), I'm expecting this horse to be at least placed here.

Stayed on to finish 5th of 8 at Sandown in July. Should be suited by this longer trip, and with improvement likely, holds at least an each-way chance.

Green when last seen, but got better as the race went on and looked to have more left after 6.5f. A mile tomorrow, and if he's trained on, he should go well.
