Was due to make his reappearance/handicap chase debut in a better race than this on Monday. This race looks more winnable, however. He's only had 4 runs under rules. He ran okay in his sole bumper run, running on into 3rd, beaten 9L by the winner Moneygarrow. The winner went on to finish 3rd in the Persian War this season, so clearly he's a useful horse. He had 3 runs over hurdles, placing on 2 occasions. He was clearly being steadily brought along, gaining vital racing experience, whilst gaining himself a nice mark for a handicap. A mark of 102 is lenient. This fella has P2P experience, having had 2 runs in that sphere. That should stand him in good stead here. His 2nd P2P run rates strong form. He finished 2nd behind Forty Coats, beaten just 4L by the winner. That horse went on to finish 4th in the Turners Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last season.

The last Uttoxeter race proved he can be competitive and can give a good run to the favorite. I expect him to be at least in the placings.

7-year-old gelding whose form behind Jasmin De Grugy at Southwell catches the eye. Both 1st and 2nd have gone on to better things, and this guy was only 1/2 length behind after clattering the last. He doesn't show his fences much respect at times, so I'm hoping the booking of Tom Cannon can really help his jumping. Extra trip should suit, and the trainer does well at this course with his handicap chasers.

Pulled up last time out but had placed in the two other runs so far this year in larger fields. Could be a decent contender here each way.

Returns from a short rest so fitness is taken on trust but, he has run well when returning from a rest previously so he's worth a look. Ran well on Good ground when last seen, today's softer ground conditions possibly more suitable.

Roxhill probably has a bit more to offer yet, this horse is far less exposed than a few of these so can improve in time. Looked in need of further on his last run, now steps up in trip which may see a better run.

This 10 year old has proven to be reliable, but he was unfortunately pulled up during the handicap chase at Newton Abbot in April. However, he is a fair 3m winner, and has the potential to make a strong comeback on his return. Therefore, placing an each-way bet at 18/1 odds could yield a profitable outcome.
