Treaty Boy has yet to finish a chase this season but looked unlucky last time. He had made headway when brought down as the leader fell two fences out. He could have at least been placed over course and distance.

There is little to recommend the two principals in the market here. Russell's first choice runner has an awful record when fresh and is too much of a risk at evens currently. Micky Hammond's charge is blighted by his trainer's record of a 3% SR with runners returning from a break. Therefore, I have landed on the other Russell runner. He made a winning chase debut over a similar trip at Newcastle and beat the Hammond runner that day convincingly and is 1lb better off tomorrow before taking his rider's claim into account. He then struggled to make a similar impact over a longer trip in his two other chases and whilst still 6lbs above that winning mark, Jack Power takes off 5lbs of that with his claim. He has been palced in all 3 of his career runs when returning from a break including a hurdles win here. The jockey is inexperienced chasing here but has been generally impressive and to my eyes, the horse is overpriced.
