Mayday Malone has won two and been runner-up in three of his last five starts. He won over course and distance in June off 78, and after finishing runner-up back here in July, he won again at Doncaster last month. He is 3lbs higher here, but Jay MacKay claims 7lbs, and drawn 2, he looks the most likely winner.

Spirit Genie won over 7f in September last year off 88. He was rested over the winter and has taken a while to get going this year. He showed signs of a return to form last time when denied a clear run on several occasions before running on and was not beaten far in 4th. He can win today off 82.

Grand Old Boy, who hasn't won for a while, has slipped down the weights as a result and ran well when 4th, beaten under a length, dropped into class 4 at Doncaster in June. Well beaten back up in grade at Newbury last time, but dropped 2lb for that, so should go well in quest for 13th career victory in this company today.

Can't believe this will start at 33/1. Won off 73 here last year on heavy. Only beaten 3 lengths off a mark of 90 first run of the season. Disappointing since, but ran okay last time and they try blinkers first time. Good draw and knows the track.

He's A Gentleman has a better chance than his odds suggest. He came 2nd off 80 here in September last year. Hollie Doyle is up and she was on board last time this horse won on the turf. Last time he raced on the turf was over 1m and he was ahead before running out of gas inside the final furlong. Today he reverts to 7f and has an EW chance off 75.
