I'm surprised not to see this horse favor in here. She's a point winner and heavy ground is no problem. She ran a stronger race under rules behind two very hot prospects in the last outing: none other than Bamino Fever. She was only 11 lengths behind, and for me that's better form than Shoda, with the potential to be better. She's the one getting weight.

I am going to look beyond the market leader in this race and instead go with Shoda, who has placed or won in the last four races. Being a course and distance winner, she should have a great chance.

This will come down to who handles the mud best, and this fella has a good third in very soft ground, so a chance is taken on the EW play here. He unseated last time, so hopefully it won't dent his confidence.

Likealightswitch is a progressive young mare showing me some real promise with a solid 883339 sequence, peaking with consistent placed efforts prior to that excusable Cork flop when over-raced up in trip. Now back to a more suitable 2m at Clonmel on ground she loves, and she's now dangerously well-handicapped for the Sexton yard.

This was 20/1 a couple of hours ago. Only one NR, so it's definitely seen a bit of money. 2nd in a Class 1 NHF on 2nd attempt. A lot was expected in the runs after that, as he was very short-priced favourite in most of his runs. Would just be typical if it wins 2nd time at a nice price here. Fingers crossed.
