Open de Espana Tips

This is Rahm's home tournament that he plays with his best effort every time. He won 3 of the last 6 Open de Espana tournaments and was runner-up last year. He played very well at the Ryder Cup. I think he will win it again.

David Puig should go close in his home country's Golf Tournament, and 16-1 are decent odds. Go each way for him to finish in the top six.

Sergio Garcia may play better now back in his home country as he has a very good record playing in Spain with 8 top ten finishes in 10 tournaments played. He also has played better in recent events after losing his form in the first half of the year. So will go for e/w 6pl.

Another who could improve for the play in Spain is Alejandro Del Rey, who won at the start of this year. Although he hasn't gone close since, he comes into this hitting the ball long, and that could put him up there in the final round. His stroke play has been good but has been let down by putting, so with better green play here, he can feature. EW 6PL.

Keeping with the Spanish angle, we could see Jose Luis Ballester up there in the final round. He can blitz a course with his big hitting and should be suited by this course. If he gets his putting on song, he looks like a lively outsider. EW 6PL.

Missed this last year, but superb form in prior two efforts with a 2nd in 2023 at nineteen under to Matthieu Pavon (who doesn't take part this year) and 4th the year prior at sixteen under par. 21st in the Alfred Dunhill and 3rd in the Vodacom Sunshine Tour last month.

39th last year, but a steady improver prior when finishing 6th in 2023 on fifteen under, on the back of a 13th at thirteen under the year prior. Worth noting, in 2023 Bradbury hit a hole-in-one and had the best round of the tournament at nine under. Tournament form has been very hit and miss, but he tends to drop a big performance every now and again, especially here.

I choose Adrian Meronk as the top pick due to his statistically superior SG: Tee-to-Green game, which is the most consistent winning metric at this course. The parkland layout allows his powerful driving to set up short irons, playing directly into the high GIR need. His recent form is strong, and a win here would consolidate his standing, providing high motivation in this late-season event.

He has consistently been hanging around the top ten mark in the last three tournaments here, which he has taken part in. Dating back from last year, finishing 10th (eight under), 9th (fourteen under), and 6th (fifteen under), it's fair to say he has a decent chance on home turf. The price is a reflection of recent form.
