Celtic v Kairat Almaty Tips

Celtic had some great results here in the Champions League group stage last season, including 5-1 and 3-1 wins versus Slovan Bratislava and RB Leipzig, respectively. Kairat Almaty have only just scraped by the former team mentioned to reach this stage, and I feel the hosts are capable of wrapping this up in the first leg here.

These may prove quite hard for Celtic to break down and play eleven behind the ball with no attacking intent. I think it's worth a try at a draw.

The game plan will be straightforward for Kairat. Keep Celtic out as long as you can and take a good result back to the home leg.

This is a bit of a long shot I know but I am going for it. Celtic are not brilliant in Europe these days, and they have not played great domestically this season either, mainly because they have not had too. Kairat Almaty have done well getting this far and their last away game was a tricky game against Slovan Bratislava when they lost but they had a few shots on target. They will get a couple of chances tonight and they just need to take one for this bet to come good.

The Scottish giants are expected to steamroll their opponents, but keeping a clean sheet has been a problem. I expect the Kazakh side to go down swinging!

Kairat beat Slovan Bratislava to get into this round, team that played in the main phase of CL last season. It won't be as easy match for Celtic as odds suggest. 1-1 draw won't be a shocker, but I agree that Celtic is a favourite. Nevertheless, odds dictate the pick.

Celtic is unbeaten in the last 7 games at home, scoring 2+ in 8/10 games. Kairat managed only 1 clean sheet in 11 away games. I expect a clear Celtic win.
