Straka appeals at the prices to finish as leading European. He has been one of the steadiest players on the PGA Tour this season, with strong approach play and excellent recent form. Harbour Town suits accurate iron players, and that is one of Straka’s biggest strengths. With questions over the consistency of Viktor Hovland and whether Ludvig Åberg is fully sharp after Augusta, Straka looks the value option to come out on top among the Europeans.

Morikawa looks overpriced to finish as the leading American at Harbour Town. This course rewards precision and approach play rather than power, which plays directly into his strengths. He has been striking the ball superbly for most of the season, and his accurate style should suit Harbour Town far better than some of the bigger hitters above him in the market. If Scottie Scheffler is slightly below his best after Augusta, Morikawa has a great chance to come out on top among the Americans.

McNealy looks a strong each-way option to finish as the leading American at Harbour Town. He has been one of the steadiest performers on the PGA Tour this season, already posting several high finishes, and this course should suit him perfectly. Harbour Town rewards accuracy, smart course management, and a sharp short game rather than pure power, all areas where McNealy is strongest. At 19/1 he looks overpriced and has a realistic chance of sneaking into the places even if one of the favourites edges him for the top spot.

Henley looks the standout to lead after Round One at Harbour Town. This course is all about precision and iron play, which are the strongest parts of his game. He has an excellent record on shorter, tighter layouts and often starts tournaments quickly when conditions suit. With Harbour Town rewarding accuracy rather than power, he has a great chance of opening with one of the lowest rounds of the day.

Fleetwood has a habit of producing low opening rounds on courses that reward good iron play and patience. Harbour Town should suit him perfectly, and he arrives after another solid performance at Augusta. At a slightly bigger price than the favourites, he looks a good each-way play to be right near the top after Thursday.

Fitzpatrick is a strong each-way option for first-round leader. He has already won at Harbour Town, and his accurate style is ideal for this course. He often starts well on tracks where position off the tee is more important than length. After some encouraging recent form, he looks likely to be in the mix from the start.

Cantlay has one of the strongest course records at Harbour Town, and this is exactly the sort of tournament where he tends to contend. He has repeatedly played well on Pete Dye layouts, and his accurate, patient style is ideal for this track. At around 20/1, he is one of the more solid outright options in the field.

Lowry is the best value each-way play. He comes here after an excellent week at Augusta, and his iron play has been superb. Harbour Town should suit him very well, and he looks far too big if he can carry that form over.

Novak is the outsider to keep onside. He was runner-up here last year, and his current form has been quietly improving. At triple-figure odds, he only needs to sneak into the places to make him worthwhile, and he has already shown he can handle this course.

Burns can go very close this week after arriving in excellent form. He carried his strong play into Augusta and looked full of confidence, particularly with his iron play and putting. Harbour Town is a course where players who keep giving themselves chances can quickly move through the field, and Burns has been doing exactly that. If he puts to the same standard as he did recently, he has a great chance of landing another big title.
