I very slightly lean Luke Littler here. Humphries is the defending Premier League champion and just beat Gerwyn Price on Night 1, but Littler comes in as the more explosive scorer and long-term tournament favourite after winning his second world title in January. His opening-night loss to Gian van Veen was a shock and should sharpen his focus rather than dent his belief. Over a short best-of-11, if Littler finds his scoring early, his higher 180 output and combination finishing should just edge a very close game.

I like Michael van Gerwen to win. He’s already reminded everyone of his level by winning Night 1 in Newcastle, beating Bunting and Humphries before edging fellow Dutchman Van Veen 6??'4 in the final. Rock is dangerous and fearless, but he still lacks van Gerwen’s experience in this exact high-pressure, weekly format. Unless MVG has a real off-night on doubles, his heavier scoring phase-to-phase and big-match mentality should carry him through.

I slightly favour Jonny Clayton. Clayton is a former Premier League champion and historically one of the most consistent players in this event, with a very solid all-round game and strong checkout percentages. Bunting absolutely has the scoring to trouble anyone and is under pressure to prove he belongs after some pundit scepticism about his inclusion, which can cut both ways on the mental side. Over best-of-11 I trust Clayton’s composure on the outer ring and his track record in this format just a bit more.
