You can confidently make a case for all three at the top of the market, but I think the Eve Johnson Houghton star Zavateri is superb value here. Bought for 35,000 guineas (a drop in the ocean in the flat racing world) but has turned into a standout performer with wins in the July Stakes, Vintage Stakes and Group 1 National Stakes - narrowly beating reopposing rival Gstaad in the latter. Whilst I have concerns that a taxing season may catch up to him here, at this price he's the safest bet and could keep getting better and better against the big guns.

Al Zanati is the favourite in the Group 3 Autumn Stakes, but I believe he is too short, primarily due to Godolphin's incredible record in this race. Straight Up represents better value for Aidan O'Brien, after finishing strongly in a Listowel maiden. Now moving up to 1m, which should suit, this promising colt can make it back-to-back wins in this race for his powerhouse yard.

2nd on debut before winning in a maiden at Tipperary which has since produced four winners. Open to plenty of improvement for a powerful stable with a great record in this race. O'Brien also runs Pierre Bonnard, who is the choice of Christophe Soumillon, but I am content with Wayne Lordan reuniting with this horse and I see him aiming to dominate the running from the off.

Represents good value in this weak listed race due to a poor run LTO at Salisbury. However, that was most likely due to the soft ground not suiting. Had impressed in her three races previous to that, particularly an eye-catching 2nd in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot, and anything close to that form will have her going close here.
