Don't know why Jaramillo is being backed like defeat is out of the question, but its form, in my opinion, wouldn't fill me with confidence. Investment Manager looks solid for a few reasons. It likes to trailblaze off in front, and he might get an easy uncontested lead, which will increase his chances. He has won at today's course at a longer trip with front-running tactics. So, with the revisit at a course he can win at and being the only known runner who can make the pace, I think he deserves to be the favorite in this. Everything fits his attributes nicely with a small field, his run style, and his course form. He deserves to go close. NAP.

Looks a wide-open race, and value looks like an option here with a solid each-way shout. Something about My Portia in its race at Market Rasen when he scampered clear and went off favorite and won for favorite backers. Last two runs haven't gone to plan, but he looks to be in a well-handicapped race to pick up a win or a place. I was struggling to pick between this or Fox Wallace. He respectfully ran a personal best for some time last time out. If he finds that type of effort again, I think he will go well too. But the chance is on Portia to try and find the Market Rasen form. That race looked competitive in my eyes and won for favorite backers, so perhaps can outrun the odds for a good price today.

Gris has been mildly disappointing, pulling up in his last two starts. It doesn't exactly fill you with the best of confidence. However, his second at Fos Las was an unfortunate hard luck story, getting chinned right on the line, looking the likely winner. He ran off 25/1 that day, and the form looks relatively strong from that race. So he has the ability to give the favorite a run for his money, and he has won over this course as well. With the month off and a revisit to a course he gets on well at, there is no reason he can't be competitive. The danger, respectfully, is Everyone's Game. He looked like he was going well when he came down at Kempton. But he has to give away weight to a horse that can hold his own when he wants to. I'm expecting Gris to go close if all is well.

Worth taking on the favourite in this small field. It could be a tactical race, which I think this horse will have the turn of foot to dictate matters. Or if it gets trappy, it will win in the sprint. Its Ludlow form looks rock solid, and the fav has to give a lot of weight away, which in my eyes doesn't look good enough if it catches Famoso on a good day. Famoso looks a solid bet!
