Viktor Hovland hasn't had an ideal start to 2024 but I'm not put off by that. He's still one of the best players in the world in my opinion - he's just not quite been able to add a Masters to his 10 professional wins. He was 7th last year when 6 under and has gone close in majors when 2nd in the PGA and 4th in the Open. You're banking on him to put it all together on masters week but I wouldn't write him off

While Mcilroy is very much clouded by a Masters hoodoo and also his abscence from winning a major title in the last decade - he still has a pretty tidy record at Augusta. Mcilroy has 7 T10 finishes in 15 starts and was 2nd behind Scheffler in 2022 albeit he was never really in with a chance of winning. The form of the Arkle has worked out very well with Il Etait Temps bolting up in the close brothers manifesto novices chase beating the front two in the Turners in the process. Found a Fifty is very consistent and has been 2nd in both the Cheltenham & Irish Arkle this season. I think he'll get his day in the sun here and win his 2nd G1 to wrap up an excellent novice chase campaign

Delta Work is a horse who can absolutely turn up with a big performance. He's a back to back Cross Country chase winner and was 3rd in the Grand National in 2022. He's well rested coming into this given the fact the Cross Country chase was cancelled at this years Cheltenham festival. He'll go on any ground and could relish these soft conditions as shown in previous wins & 3 time winning trainer Gordon Elliott has been fairly bullish about his work at home in the lead up to this

Hiddenvalley lake won well last time out and it's interesting that Robcour have opted not to send Teahupoo or Irish Point to Aintree. That tells me they think this horse is good enough to win what looks a relatively weak grade 1 race with a lot of these horses having had tough races at Cheltenham and with age against them.

A very consistent horse who is yet to be out the first 3 in his career starts. He ran to a good level when third in the Baring Bingham last time out and was narrowly beaten in the Lawlors of Naas. This is a very muggy E/W bet but I just fail to see this horse being outside of the first 3 in this field

Absolutely no way should Golden Ace be a double digit price. She won a hot mares novice hurdle at Cheltenham on similar ground to what she'll experience tomorrow and the 4th placed Jade De Grugy has come out and won since, I think this is way too big given her form

I like Bayern on the handicap here, they have nothing to play for on the domestic front and their season now rests on this fixture.
