16:30 Man Utd v Man City

Man City

Probably the least important Manchester derby in years. Man Utd have been really poor this season, and Man City have dropped off from their usual high standards. Haaland is out injured for the next few weeks, but I think Marmoush will be able to step up in his place. Man Utd have been poor at home; teams seem to go there with the impression they can win. Man Utd's last four home wins have come against Southampton, Leicester, Ipswich, and Everton (under Dyche). Whilst Man City have been poor away from home this season, I think they will have a bit too much class for Man Utd here and win in a low-scoring affair.

Liverpool managed to get back to winning ways against Everton and are on the verge of sealing the league table. Liverpool are yet to lose away from home this season and have scored at least two in their last 5 away games, keeping three clean sheets. Fulham have been good at times, but they have also shown inconsistency. Their recent form is LWLWL. It can be tough judging teams after a midweek fixture, but I think Liverpool will edge this.

Spurs have had a bad season, but this game against Southampton should give them the opportunity to pick up an easy three points. Spurs have won 1 in their last 10 home games, but they have only failed to score against Manchester City in that run. Southampton have conceded at least 2 in 5 of their last 6 away games, and I just think Spurs will beat Southampton comfortably here.

Nottingham Forest away from home against decent opposition has been a completely different team to the Forest side playing bottom half teams home and away this season. When playing teams in the top 10 away from home, Forest have W1 D2 L5 and have conceded at least 2 goals in all 5 of those losses. Villa have been good at home, only losing once against Arsenal back in August. The first goal is important here as Forest have been good at defending leads this season, but if they concede the first goal, then they have the potential to have a soft underbelly. Villa have started to hit form just at the right time, and I think they will win this close encounter.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Everton managed to nick a win here. Everton were 9 games unbeaten before losing narrowly to Liverpool, but I think the 12:30 kick-off at home to an Arsenal side, against whom they have a decent home record, gives them a chance to get a win. Since Moyes returned to Everton, at home they have W2 D3 L1, scoring at least 2 in 4 of the 6 home games. Arsenal keep picking up more injuries as the weeks go by, so they will be without Gabriel as well as their other injuries. With the title gone, their full focus will be on the Champions League game against Real Madrid on Tuesday, so I wouldn't be surprised if there is some distraction here. Arsenal won 1-0 here last season, but prior to that, they hadn't won in 7 games here, and I can see Everton edging this.

Bournemouth will be looking to get back to winning ways against a poor Ipswich side but I am going to back BTTS here. Ipswich have only failed to score in four away games this season with Arsenal and Forest being two of those. BTTS has also won in 6 of Ipswich's last 7 games. Bournemouth have stuttered at home, failed to score in 2 of their last 3 home games but Ipswich have failed to keep a clean sheet in all but one of their away games this season and Bournmouth should have the quality to at least score here. BTTS has won in 4 of their last 5 games and I can see it happening again here.

The reverse fixture ended 2-2 and I wouldn't be surprised if this is a similar game. I don't think a draw will do either side any favours considering the fixtures European rivals have this week but I do expect goals here. Over 2.5 goals has featured in Brightons last 6 Premier League games and Brighton themselves have scored at least two in their last 5. Villa have struggled for clean sheets this season, they only have 2 away from home all season. I can make a case for both sides to score here and think this will be 2-1 either way or 2-2 so expect there to be plenty of goals here.

Man City are missing Haaland for this game but they shouldn't need him to see off this Leicester side. RVN has been a dreadful appointment for Leicester, losing 13 in 16 and failing to score in 11 of them including the last 6 in a row. This is not the Man City of old though they looked a bit like their former selves in the second half against Bournemouth. Marmoush will likely have the burden to score the goals whilst Haaland is out but I expect Man City to have a comfortable evening against Leicester here.

Forest rested a few players on the weekend against Brighton and I expect Elanga and Hudson-Odoi to come back into the starting line up for this game. It is going to be touch and go whether Chris Wood is fit for this but I think they will be able to cope without him. Forest are unbeaten in their last 8 home games, winning 6 of them and keeping 5 clean sheets. Man Utd have put a small run together, currently four unbeaten but two of those games have come against Ipswich and Leicester so I am not getting carried away by that. Man Utd are still missing a host of players and I can't see anything but a narrow Forest win to maintain their Champions League charge.

A game between two poor sides here in what I expect is going to be a poor quality game. Wolves are still without Cunha here and without him I don't see where the goals are going to come from. 3 of their last 5 home games have been Under 2.5 goals. West Ham have improved defensively under Graham Potter but they haven't got it right when it comes to their attacking play. There games are usually goal shy with their last five all being under 2.5 goals and 7 of their last 8 being under 2.5 goals.

Usually at this stage of the competition you would expect Man City to be heavy favourites to win the competition but this is going to be a really tough game for them. Bournemouth have already beat Man City at home this season so this is a game they are more than capable of winning but they have hit a sticky patch of form recently. They've lost their last three games at home whilst Kerkez and Huijsen are suspended for this game. Man City have been poor away from home. They have lost 11 of their last 17 away games and have only won 4 those games and they were against Spurs, Leyton Orient, Ipswich and Leicester. I can't be confident of either side winning so I am going to go for a draw after 90 mins and this to be settled in extra time or penalties.

Ever since that 7-0 hammering, Brighton couldn't have responded much better. They are currently unbeaten in 7 games (winning 6) and will see this as a chance to get some sort of revenge for that heavy defeat. They have scored at least two goals in each of those 7 games they have gone unbeaten. Forest have been a little inconsistent since that 7-0 win but head into this on the back of beating Man City and Ipswich just before the international break but will be missing Chris Wood here. I think this will be a tight game and I am leaning towards a draw here. Brighton beat Newcastle in extra time whilst Forest needed penalties to beat Exeter and Ipswich so I think this will be a game that will need ET or penalties.

A good opportunity for both sides to get to a FA Cup semi-final. I think this will be a edgy game. Fulham have been fairly strong at home this season, losing only 4 games, winning 7 and drawing 5. Palace have hit a run of form recently, winning 7 of their last 8 games whilst winning their last 6 away games in all competitions. Crystal Palace are yet to concede a goal in any of the away games in the Premier League this calender year and they have already been to Craven Cottage and won already this season. I'm expecting this to be a close game and leaning towards a draw as I feel this game is going to be settled in extra time or penalties.
