The American won earlier this year at the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches and he did finish 16th three years ago at the 3M Open. He finished with rounds of 67, 68 and 67 that week and I am tipping he will have another good week at the 3M Open now he is a PGA Tour winner.

The Siuth African played really nicely for three days in the Scottish Open shooting rounds of 67, 67 and 64 and he was tied 6th before that at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. I am tipping Erik Van Rooyen will be confident of another good week after not being in the field last week at The Open.

Two top seven finishes in the last six tournaments played and I am tipping Hayden Buckley is a big price this week. He was 7th last week at the Barracuda Championship and with his only appearance in the 3M Open, my tip is that Hayden Buckley will put a really good week together to win this tournament.

Jake Knapp won earlier this year at the Mexico Open at Vidanta and he was 4th at the Cognizant Classic and 8th at the CJ Cup Byrton Nelson since then. He was 24th last week at the Barracuda Championship and I am tipping he will take a liking to the course this week at the 3M Open.

Barnsley were beaten in the play off semi finals last year and I am tipping they will want to start the new season with a win at Oakwell. Mansfield have come up from League Two and my tip is Barnsley will get after them and win this opening home game.

Blackburn Rovsrs entertain Derby County at Ewood Park in the opening night of the Championship and the last two times they were both in the Championship it was a home and away domestic double for Rovers both seasons. I am tipping Blackburn beat Derby County to start with a win.

Chesterfield have won three of their last four matches with Swindon Town and I am tipping they will beat them on the opening night of the League Two season. Chesterfield topped the National League winning sixty points at home, my tip is they beat Swindon.

Sheffield United beat Preston home and away the season before last in the Championship and I am tipping The Blades will want to start the new season well and with a positive result. Preston haven't won any of the last seven head to head and my tip is a United away win.

There wasn't a home win the last two seasons between Cardiff City and Sunderland, both teams won away at the others ground the last two years. This looks a tight match on the opening day and Cardiff are steady at home and the same can be said for Sunderland away so I am tipping they settle for a draw and a point each.

Bristol City have won two of the last three against Hull City. Last season Hull drew 1-1 at home to City and two of their last three at home to them were draws. Last season Hull weren't great at home and Bristol City weren't great away so my tip is a draw on the opening weekend.

Leeds United were beaten by Southampton in the play off final last season and I am tipping Elland Road will be bouncing on the first weekend of the season. Leeds finished third last season on ninety points and they were the second best team at home, my tip is they beat newly promoted Portsmouth to start with a win.

Middlesbrough have won the last five matches against Swansea City and the lastbsux head to head read five wins for Boro and the one draw. Swansea City finished 14th last season and with four straight away defeats at the Riverside I am tipping the home win.

Millwall have actually won three of the last four fixtures against Watford and I am tipping they will start the new season with a win. The last two seasons they beat Watford at home to nil and my tip is Millwall beat them again today.

Oxford United and Norwich City last met in 1999 and it ended 4-2 to Norwich. Oxford have won two of the last three against The Canaries so I am tipping an entertaining game, my tip is this ends in a draw.

Two of the last three matches between Queens Park Rangers and West Brom ended in 2-2 draws and I am tipping on paper this does look like a score draw. Three in seven have been draws between them so my tip is they both score and it ends in another draw.

Bully Boy won the World Championship in 2023 beating Michael Van Gerwen 7-4 in the final and he is also twice a runner up since 2019. He is a former winner of the Grand Slam of Darts too and after his defence last year I am tipping Michael Smith comes back stronger and is a danger man at The Alky Pally, my tip is Smith becomes a two time world champion.
Nathan Aspinall

Nathan Aspinall he reached the semi final twice back in 2019 and 2020 and he is a former UK Open and World Matchplay winner aswell as a beaten finalist in the Premier League and the World Grand Prix. The Asp can follow in the footsteps of Luke Humphries last year and realise his full potential by becoming World Darts Champion and I am tipping he goes all the way to the final.
