Race 2 at Ascot today is the Karen Codd Novices' Handicap Hurdle over 4600m, GBB Race, Class 4, for 4yo and over. The going is reported to be good to soft in places. The suggested wager is a straight win on the 6yo gelding Jakar Du Moulin from the P F Nicholls yard. He will be ridden by Harry Cobden. This son of Kapgarde is lightly raced, with one win in five starts. He caught the eye when returning from a wind operation last time out, only weakening very late. He should be a factor here.
