Overview

Join a Friday night office party where all employees have been laid off in Shady Lady’s Office Party slot. With 5 reels and 1,024 ways to win, you can play this tongue-in-cheek game at slot sites from 20p per spin.

With cascades for the chance of successive wins, there are 3 wilds that award wild reels, drip wilds and slap down wilds. Look out for weapon lockers as they strike the Piñata: take the head off to play the Severance Bonus. With weapons (with their own multiplier), weapon locks landing on coin jars will see their values collected and subject to the weapon’s multiplier.

In turn, hits are delivered to the Manager Piñata which upgrades weapon multipliers and moves you to the next level when you take him down. Each level sees the lowest-value weapon removed for bigger potential wins. The feature continues until you fill the screen with coin jars.

With a 96.51% RTP rate and 20,000 times bet max wins, play the Office Party slot for free below. Not available in the UK to play for real money just yet, there are 500+ of the best demo slots to enjoy at OLBG.

Shady Lady’s 4th release, the Office Party slot is based on another awkward Friday night at the world’s greyest company (Baxter & Carlson Stationaries). It reminds me a little of Ricky Gervais’ ‘The Office’ series which is based on a stationary company.

With employees being laid off after the party, things take a turn for the worst as a full-blown riot proceeds. With HR going AWOL, the setting is a regular office which is littered with beer bottles, a piñata and angry coworkers, include Sam Coke the MD!

With a 80s style soundtrack, symbols include a ‘Kick Me!’ post it note, a mouse with a smiley face on it, a dice with party dares, a stapler in jelly and 4 employees. Sam Coke (the MD) is the best-paying symbol offering 2 x bet for 5 in combination.

Other symbols include a Splashin’ Wild, a Smashin’ Wild, Flashin’ Wild, weapon lockers and coin jars. More information on their functions can be found in the Bonus Features section below.

Office Party Mobile

With Shady Lady producing all slot games with HTML5 technology, Office Party is compatible with mobile, tablet, laptop and PC devices. If you like to play on your handheld device, it’s available to play on iOS and Android smartphones as standard. That said, I prefer playing on a desktop device for the full experience.

Bonus Features

The Office Party slot comes with cascades, 3 wild extras and a Severance Bonus feature where the aim is to collect coin jar prizes and level up using weapon lockers.

Cascades

Wen you land a winning combination (3+ matching symbols across successive reels), the Cascades feature is activated. Winning symbols are removed from the reels with the remaining symbols dropping to occupy the vacated positions. Then new symbols fall in from above to hopefully form new winning combinations. The process continues until no more new wins are formed.

Wilds

The Office Party slot benefits from 3 wild features. Details are as follows:

  • Splashin’ Wilds: Disguised as exploding toilets, you’ll see wild reels of Splashin’ Wilds randomly on reels 2-4. If the right part of the wild reel lands and creates a winning combination, more wilds will land.
  • Smashin’ Wilds: Randomly during base game spins or cascades, 1-4 beer bottles will crash onto random positions on the reels. The beer runs down and cover the affected position and all positions below with wilds. Only 1 beer bottle can land per reel.
  • Flashin’ Wilds: Randomly during the base game or a cascade, up to 4 ‘streaker’s zoom by with each streaker placing 1-4 wilds on random positions on the reels.

Weapon Lockers and the Piñata

Look out for a weapon locker symbol as it, when falling down, hits at the Piñata with a random weapon. Each hit gives you the chance to known the Piñata’s head off and trigger the Severance Bonus feature. Multiple weapon locker symbols can land during base game spins.

Severance Bonus

Office Party slot Severance Bonus feature screenshot

If you knock the Piñata’s head off, you’ll activate the Severance Bonus feature. With 4 levels, you begin at level 1: here, there are 4 weapon types available (Laptop, Trash Can, Office Chair and Printer). Each contains their own multiplier.

During the feature, Coin Jar and Weapon Locker symbols can drop onto the reels. If a weapon locker lands on a coin jar or a stack of coin jars, it crushes them and collects all the coins inside. Once collected, the value is multiplied by the weapon’s multiplier.

Regardless of whether the weapon locker crushes the coin jars or not, any weapon lock that reaches the bottom of the reels will deliver 1 hit to the Manager and upgrade the multipliers of all higher-class weapons.

With each hit, there is a chance the Manager will be knocked down. When you do so, you progress to the next level. Importantly, each level upgrade sees the lowest-value weapon removed meaning it won’t appear in weapon lockers and any present stacks of coin jars and all coins will be collected in 1 jar remaining at the bottom of the reels (allowing for more coins jars to land).

If the bottom row is filled completely with coin jars, no more symbols can land on that row. The feature continues until all reel positions are filled with coin jars.

Gimp Mode

There is an optional Gimp Mode feature which, when enabled, sees your chances of knocking the Piñata’s head off halved. However, it do you manage to trigger the Severance Bonus feature, all weapons will begin with a 2x multiplier.

The chance of triggering the Severance Bonus feature with the Gimp Mode enabled is 1 in 435 spins (1 in 217 without it). However, the average win from the feature increases from 80.65 x bet up to 158.69 x bet.

Bonus Buy

Available to non-UK players, Office Party has various option. There are Bonus Boost, Bonus, Highlight Reels and Loot Box options:

  • Bonus Boost: for 1.5 x bet, you boost your chances of triggering the Severance Bonus feature.
  • Big Bonus Boost: for 5 x bet, your chances increase further.
  • Bonus Buy: buy your way directly into the Severance Bonus feature for 81 x bet.
  • Highlight Reels: With 3 options, you buy the best 3 of 100, 300 or 500 spins for 71, 163 or 241 x bet respectively.
  • Loot Boxes: With Rare, Epic and Legendary Loot Box options, you will be awarded 1 of 9 Enhanced Bonuses. There are Bronze, Silver and Gold Enhanced Bonuses which cost 186, 344 or 571 x bet respectively. There are 1, 2 or 3 star versions of each option with higher win potential the more stars.

Following on from Oops, Brainwashed and Devil’s Finger, the Office Party slot owes a lot to the US version of The Office TV series. With tongue-in-cheek graphics, it’s quirky and typical of what we’ve come to expect from Shady Lady slot games.

Inspired by office workers getting fired, a total meltdown is in full flow. With standard cascading wins, the base is boosted by 3 wild extras that reward you with wild reels, drip wilds and slap down wilds. The Severance Bonus feature is the main attraction: I love how you don’t need scatters to trigger it with the Piñata’s head being knocked off the key to getting in.

In the latter, you begin at level 1. Look out for weapons which come with their own multiplier. When weapon lockers land on coin jars, their values will be collected and then subject to the weapon’s multiplier. Delivering hits to the Manager (who is the feature’s piñata), multipliers of higher-class weapons are upgraded.

If you manage to knock down the Manager, you’ll move to the next level which sees the lowest-value weapon removed each time. The feature continues until you fill all positions with coin jars.

With 20,000 times bet max wins possible, Office Party is a quirky, fun slot game which combines several extras into a unique proposition. Another solid effort from Shady Lady who have established themselves as one of the go-to providers if you want unique and interesting slots.

The only other slot game I can think of with a similar theme is Nolimit City’s Nine to Five which offers 9,217 x bet max wins. If you like the graphics, it does remind me of Beavis and Butt-head a little.
