Mattia Bellucci vs Jaume Munar Tips

I quite liked Bellucci (ranked 63) in R1 vs Comesana, but was put off by the quick turnaround, coming from a Challenger final the day before this tournament started. But the streaky 24yo Italian lefty won the Sumter Challenger (South Carolina), then made the short trip to Winston-Salem and won! In Munar (ranked 46), he faces someone with a truly awful record in tournaments the week prior to majors, as the 28yo Spaniard has lost his last 9 such matches going back to January 2022. So he clearly doesn’t fancy wasting energy with bigger fish to fry! Bellucci can be very streaky - witness his performance in and after Rotterdam this year. He made the SFs at 500 level as a qualifier, but then lost 4 of his next 5 matches. I think Bellucci has the winning feeling and his confidence is up. Munar has lost 2 of the 3 matches he’s played this hard court summer. The only win came against world #560 Dan Martin in Canada.
