Mathea enters this race as the heavy favorite after a series of very consistent performances on the New York track. In her last two starts (December 26 and January 16), she achieved two consecutive second-place finishes at longer distances (8 furlongs/1 mile). The combination of Manuel Franco and Mark Hennig is highly effective at Aqueduct. Franco knows the track well and typically positions his horses strategically for the final push.

Looks well suited for the trip based on breeding. Those that have run have not done much, and I think could know its job first time up.
