5:40 Southwell Tips

Expectations remain high for Profit Street for connections who are looking for this horse to get his head in front. Looks a good bet in this race.

Hint of the Jungle is a gelding rated 55 who has shown he can be competitive off this mark, notably when finishing third in a Southwell all-weather handicap over this trip after travelling well and staying on to be beaten under two lengths. He again ran on late in a similar race to finish just outside the first two. Those runs confirm the surface and distance suit and that today’s rating is workable. With conditions again in his favour and scope to build on those efforts if he gets a clean run, there are solid reasons to expect him to step forward and be involved late.

Jack Dace is a rapidly improving jockey and his 5 lb claim could be key here. This bottom weight already has a C&D win to her name (off a 3 lb higher mark). That was when she was ridden by a 3 lb claimer who doesn't have stats anywhere near the level of this one. That was her sole win to date, and she is of real interest now returning to that C&D off a falling handicap mark.

Yet to win for Gary Harrison but has posted a couple of very solid placed efforts at Wolverhampton and Newcastle on the previous two starts. Been nudged up a lb but should be capable of striking soon.

Back Tomorrow came into form this time last year and is a rock-bottom mark now. Ran well in a classified event on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton last time out, so could get involved if kicking on from that. Struggled in handicaps of late, but there's plenty at shorter prices that I don't think have as much going for them as this one.

PURE ARTISTRY has joined a good young yard and may be able to improve. A winner for Michael Bell during the summer, she does not look to have anything in hand of her mark and so the case does rest on the change of surroundings. Not sure the retention of the tongue tie after an absence is a particularly good sign but she has worn one across her last seven races.
