Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Alexandre Muller Tips

Tsitsipas Is no longer considered one of the best players, as he now sits 26th in the rankings. But this is a game he's expected to win having won the two previous meetings.

The Greek player hasn't really been playing his best, having encountered back-to-back defeats lately. I think it's time for a revival, but he should still slip here.

Alexandre Muller is an improver, recently achieving his highest ranking of 38. Stefanos Tsitsipas was once the next big thing, but that is not going to happen, and he is on the way down. A 3-0 victory for Mr. Muller would no longer be a shock result.

Stefanos Tsitsipas's decline has accelerated dramatically this year, and he is currently at the lowest point of his career. But you can never underestimate this player.

I'll take a stab at Muller (ranked 38) with a slight 'head start' as the 28-year-old Frenchman is in reasonable form, and Tsitsipas, now down to #28 in the world, is really struggling these days. The recent level for the 27-year-old Greek is miles from where he was near the top of the men’s game. He was brushed aside by Yunchaokete Bu in Winston-Salem, just the most recent in a string of worrying losses. Tsitsipas held serve only 41% of the time, winning just 26% of second serve points. His backhand is a liability, with everyone on the tour facing him peppering that wing. Muller has a solid backhand that can win that particular battle. In Tsitsipas’ last 10 matches, he has just a 30% win rate and a service/return points won total of just 97. He also has a poor record at the US Open - never past the last 32, with a 6-7 losing record (lost 4 of his last 5 matches in NYC). He didn’t even have a good clay swing this year, and although Muller produced a dismal performance in Winston-Salem, that looked more like a pre-slam tank than the sequence of bad performances from Tsitsipas.

Although Muller has good numbers, Tsitsipas has faced higher-level opponents and has more experience in Grand Slams. In this duel, he should bring out the quality.
