Selection had superb form over in France in its bumper races, two of which were on today's ground, good to soft. His last race at Punchestown he won very easily, albeit he was 4/1 on, but he still showed his class, winning by nine lengths. Paul Townend on board obviously has had great success at Cheltenham over the last few years, and he's in the saddle again for this, which is a large positive. He's a big price and the bet is each way, but the selection has all the ability to take gold here.

Selection is unbeaten in chases thus far, similar to an old favourite of mine, 'Big Bucks,' although he trained in a different yard. However, the selection has extremely good stablemates in Sprinter Sacre and Altior. Nicky and Nico have been prolific this season so far, and I really think Lulamba has what it takes to get Henderson and Nico's first win of the festival. The bet is a win for this.

Selection was third behind Manlaga on its last outing, but the Skeltons have been doing really well here in recent years. I believe they'll have a lot of success over the festival this year. The Mighty Celt certainly has the ability to cause an upset here. If Harry Skelton times his move better than in his last meeting with Manlaga, he could overturn their previous result. It's an each-way bet just for safety, but I always look for value with those who have a good chance of winning too.

This may look to be a surprise selection to many, but I always look for value when placing my own bets, so I don't plan to change my tactics for this. The selection has shown ability in a few of his races, winning twice. His last race at Punchestown I classed as a warm-up for this race. Conditions may actually be in his favour regardless of whether it rains today or not. Gordon Elliott runs a top Irish yard and has had a lot of success at the festival over the years. Jack Kennedy is also very familiar with the course, and although they may not be leading contenders they are more than capable of causing a few upsets. This is an each-way bet for value.

Selection won the Tunners here last year and won a Grade 2 here on its latest outing. He's also unbeaten in completed runs, having fallen only once. Again, the Skeltons are a formidable team, and I think The New Lion will possibly put them into an early lead at the festival this year. The bet is for the win.

Selection has a 50% win record over hurdles, chases and National Hunt flats. Ben Pauling and Ben Jones have had some really good results of late, and they come into the festival brimming with confidence ??' and so they should. The selection could give them their first win at the festival this year. The selection's run last year can be forgiven, and his progress to winning his last outing has been incredible. Again, this is a value each-way bet.

Sean Bowen is the champion jockey. He's the lead rider for Olly Murphy's yard, and they're very competitive at the festival. I think this could be their first winner here. He's fared better in chases but has a great record over hurdles too. The ground is no issue, having won on various going from good through to soft already. The last race is no deal breaker, as I feel it was more a warm-up for today. Although I've chosen each way for my bet, I genuinely think he'll win this.
