French sprinter Paul Magnier had a breakout second year, winning five times and adding a sixth this year in a stage win in France earlier this year. He has shown his ability in the bigger classics on the main UCI World Tour, finishing second in the 80th Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on the 1st of March this year. Other high finishes in sprint races show his ability, and he looks worth backing to win on Thursday at 11/1.

I would say Belgian Jasper Philipsen is the standout sprinter in this sprint-dominated race. As he is a former winner (2021), he is a worthy favorite on Thursday.

In this Mountain Stage 2 race today, Portuguese Climbing Specialist looks like a very good value each way selection at 50/1. He has managed to win three climbing stages so far in 2025, with a further three more on the podium. He has also won a hilly stage, so even a blend of the two, which this stage does offer, I feel will be covered by him.

25-year-old Belgian Remco Evenepoel is a brilliant all-rounder and one of the favorites for the Tour de Romandie 2025. There really is no weakness to his overall riding style. In this Mountain Stage 2, he offers great climbing skills and can add to his 60 wins on his bulging palmares resume today. 12/1 to win the stage looks outstanding value.
