The Philadelphia Park racecourse, otherwise known as Parx Racing is located in Bensalem, Pennsylvania which is northeast of the city of Philadelphia.
Like many racecourses in the US, the complex is not just a racecourse, it is known as the 'Parx Casino and Racing' with a twenty-four-hour casino on site too.
Philadelphia Park Notable Races: The Pennsylvania Derby is the highlight of the calendar at Philadelphia Park, this takes place on the last Saturday of September.
Given a Grade 1 status in 2017, this is one of two G1 races run at the track with the Cotillion Handicap being the other, this race is run on the same day as the Derby.
Other notable races are the Grade 2 Gallant Bob Stakes which was upgraded in 2019 and then there are five G3 races which are the Smarty Jones Stakes, Dr. James Penny Memorial Stakes, Greenwood Cup Stakes, Parx Dash Stakes, and the Turf Monser Stakes.
