Pau Racing Picks

The Hippodrome de Pau first featured horse racing in 1842 and is situated in southwestern France, set along the Pyrenees mountain range.

Pau is famous in other sports, particularly motorsports, and holds the title of being the city that staged the first-ever Grand Prix.

In 2006, the racetrack underwent a major renovation increasing the facilities to allow larger attendances, they get over 150k visitors each year.

The track is the home of jumps racing, unlike most tracks, it features an all-weather track that is outside of the turf tracks.

It is a right-handed track with the exception of some chase races which are run in a figure of eight.

The most prestigious race at Pau is the Grand Prix de Pau, a Grade 3 Chase run over 3m2f and takes place in January of each year.
