Flemington Racecourse Guide
The Flemington racecourse, home of the Melbourne Cup hosts turf racing with plenty of top-class racing taking place.
You can expect Flemington racing picks throughout the year with racing taking place from most of the year.
The track is a pear shape which includes a chute. That chute is used for straight races over 5f (1000m) and 6f (1200m). The chute is also used for a race over 2m (3200m).
The racecourse also hosts races over 7f (1400m), 1m (1600m), 1m2f (2000m), and also 1m4f (2500m) which all have starting points on the main track.
Located in Flemington, Victoria, this course has a capacity of over 120k with three grandstands. The record crowd was back in 2006 when over 129k witnessed the Victoria Derby.
