Horse Racing Discussion for November

Postby Zipster » Sun Oct 31, 2021 12:52 pm

Plenty to get stuck into in November, Breeders' Cup over in the US, the Melbourne Cup down under and plenty in the UK too with the November Meeting at Cheltenham at the jumps really starting to ramp up!

I am glad to see the back of October, poor month. But new month new start :D

I m going to lower my minimum price this month and see what happens. My choice today is Coton End in the 3.25 at 10/1 EW (Just noticed i did it win in the comp, EW IRL)

Won a class 3 at Aintree off this mark 4 starts ago, her last two races have been over 2 miles 4 , back to two miles today and off a winning mark in a class 4, she should be competitive , this is her second run back from a break and should be ready . I will go EW as the trainer isn’t in the best of form.

Like you Crofty11 glad to see the back of October, no rewards for hard work, poor performance.

Hoping to kick start the month off on the right note with my NAP coming up at 1.15 Plumpton with SHEILA NASH as she shows in form book she requires one run to put herself right for a big run on second outing, hopefully she is spot on for this today.

Looks like I am carrying on from last month, poor show there. :lose:

P.Nicholls has a good record with his hurdlers at Plumpton .
His Doinwhatshelikes was having first run for over two years in the 1.45 & ran well finishing 3rd over 20f .
Trainer runs HELL RED 9/2 in the 2.45.
Should strip fitter from recent run , dons the Dodging Bullets silks .

The men of the moment Team Moore run JUMPING CATS 7/2 on the 4.15 .
Looking for the 3 timer , will have to overcome 8Lb rise from last 2 wins but when they're in form , back em as I did with my Daily Nap which was Team Moore's WEST ON SUNSET which obliged each way at 25/1 finishing 3rd.

I managed to win a £10 last month , not sure how , I had a flick through September's winners & noticed that the beers are most definitely on Crofty ! :D

3.05 Kempton going to give JOHN LEEPER a chance here at 10/1 with him running in the Derby and fancied to do something there but never did.
Derby runners are worthy of being noted and would not be surprise if he fires here with a big run.

Stayed on from back of the field but never threaten, becoming a disappointment :lose:

At Exeter on Tuesday there is a stayers qualifier race over three miles and it is the "One A Day2, race.

I was scouting through the form and BOB MAHLER caught the eye at 16/1, I am thinking this one maybe shorter before off time and my reasons behind this, he is so well handicapped a big run should be forthcoming.
I know he has two ways of racing but when his mind on the job, he can be a solid force. Yes that word IF.

He is racing off a mark of 128 and the last time he was off this rating was back in 2019 at Newbury and beating a certain horse called LARRY, who won the London Gold Cup last Saturday, not bad form folks.

His last run was at Sandown n the Gold Cup with a ninth place to his name, being fresh might be a good sign to think he may be having a going forward day, as he was third after 62 days off at Musselburgh behind Mighty Thunder.

Trainer Warren Greatrex might be on the cold list for winners from the last fourteen days but he has had four placed and this is his only runner at the meeting

Jockey who is a conditional called Caoilin Quinn. he has not caught my eye before but he has had two hurdle wins from 31 rides so far been placed four times over fences, could be well capable of getting this stayer home in front.

I think he is worth a shot, with 16/1 on show could reaping the rewards with the handicapper giving him so much rope.

Might be well handicapped but will need to raise his game after this poor showing, will not be following this one, not reliable, sorry folks for putting up one that could not raise a gallop. :lose: :lose:

Hi

Looks like a good day for racing at Exeter, Good to Soft going maybe with some soft in places? the weather looks good, maybe an odd shower. However the two class races, The Haldon Gold Cup a £70k race & The Future Stars a £22k race have attract 6 & 4 runners respectively, you have to wonder what do trainers want these days? Fair play to Paul Nicholls who has obviously set HGC for 2 of his hopefuls and why not £40k to the winner and almost £2k for finishing 5th - I like Greanateen but giving 17lb+ to the rest of the field may be difficult but he is the class animal, although Hitman if he has learned to jump will be a very big danger! In the FS with £12.25k to the winner of the 4 runners Nicholls has Threeunderthrufive who has flattered to deceive for me and 2 of the other three in the race will give him a go I guess plus if Ms Thomasina Eyston can get the roughy, Missyladie, round for 4th the she will get £1413 for her troubles.

Come on trainers get with the programme

iain

Im grubbing around the grades 6 type races at Lingfield and in the 1.33 Kaths Lustre has caught my eye, she is a Chelmsford specialist 5 of her 6 wins are her but she did win round here earlier in her career and has placed a couple of times. She is back off a short break.

EW 20/1

Kaths last two wins were after break off marks of 63 and 62, both of those at Chelmsford, but she does run ok round here having won and placed in the past. Today she is off 60 and the trainer has put up a 7lb claimer so she is nicely weighted. Could be a decent EW shout.

9713iw good points I am on Paul Nicholls GREANETEEN as I think his jumping will pay the way to success.

Jumped well was a tiring horse up the home straight :lose:

Crofty11 I am also with your selection KATHS LUSTRE as I feel she is well handicapped and could be ready to strike after a break.

:lose: Had a chance but could not find anything when required.

Staying at leafy Lingfield 2.03 CAPLA SPIRIT could be showing potential here with him being handicapped to make his presence felt, he is sired by Cable Bay and can see this six furlongs out with a big run at decent odds.

Manage to get third place, return to five furlongs could see a result. :3:

October wasn't a good month and November has not started too well.
I specialise in handicaps of between 8 to 10 runners and it seems to have been the Nurseries that have let me down.
A bad day at the races is better than a good day at work!
