I have to stop and think, with a smile on my face, another month has been and now into the New month of November and I have been opening up this thread on many occasion and wondering where the time has gone.

Here is a question, that I cannot answer as of memory loss, age thing I have been told but Fakenham was a racecourse that saw a trainer do well here but he has passed on now but his colours were green with white sleeves and in past days after his death, they had a race named after him but I cannot remember, can someone enlighten me with the answer, I sue to follow this trainer here and was rewarded with winners .

Sorry meoldmate, I have no idea, but perhaps age is also catching up with me.

What I do know about Fakenham is that it is an exceptionally tight track, which doesn’t suit every horse, so it is often worth considering track specialists, even if they appear to have been recently out of form elsewhere.

Cheers,

Rob.

If we both carry on this way with memory issue we will be in the same home Rob :D
The strangest thing is, this trainer is on the tip of my tongue and I cannot get the name out, I am even trying to remember a couple of his horses that would help.
As I mentioned, his colours were white sleeves and green body.

when viewing the day meetings, we all look at the card for horses, trainers and jockeys we follow, names of trainers spring into focus and we all see the normal run of the mill with the like of Nicky Henderson, Paul Nicholls, Harry Skelton and on the flat John Gosden etc.
Today, I notice Nick Gifford and I know he has runners from time to time but in days gone by we use to see his fathers name on most days, wondering if Nick has the same amount of horses that his father had or has he cut down in size.

I think Nick has two runners at Fakenham and one looks ro have a good chance of being competitive CASHANOVA in the 1.40 and this one was unlucky last time when brought down.

As Robmull pointed out above Fakenham is a tight track and long striding horses can struggle here and the nippy sort can deliver and I have not seen my selection run but I am hoping he is of the nippy type.

afternoon all new month so lets start off as we mean to go on ......

1.10 ..... ATLANTIC GREY ..... Each Way ..... 3/1 ...

The henderson horse looks poor value odds on while this one ran well when 3rd on seasonal debut and looks worth an e.w. interest here even

at 3/1 odds..if the henderson horse romps home still should hit the frame and you won't lose much...... :hope:

Fakenham for me

Mercian King in the 2.40. I have done it Each Way.

It seems that they can go very fast at Fakenham leading to a need for Stamina that wouldn't seem to be needed here. Mercian is a course winner , has won over 2 miles 2 furlongs, won last time out and looks a decent Each Way proposition. I am hoping that Mccabee creek who won from the front last time an the favourite will set a decent pace and set this up for a horse that stays.

I think the Henderson horse in the first in Fakenham is a banker, as it did finsih off well off a slow pace in tight Southwell. I really dont know how an Atlantic Grey who needs to stride out the pace and is between 2m and 2m4f and lacked a good finish or a Schap should be dangerous to the fav who looks also physical a bit better type.

Royal Ruby
win 4/5

Aiden O'Brien 2000g entry Foreign Secretary in the next at Dundalk is probably worth an ew punt at 8/1+ from a good draw
