Horse Racing Discussion and Information - Friday 20th October

Postby Zipster » Thu Oct 19, 2017 6:42 pm

Racing from Dundalk, Fakenham, Haydock, Newcastle, Redcar and Wincanton for Friday!

Dr Richard Newland has a very good 55% (6-11) strike rate (+9) for his runners at Fakenham over the past five years and he sends just one runner out there in Catamaran Du Seuil (4.25), Oliver Greenall has a 44% (7-16) strike rate (+20) at Newcastle for handicap rides, he has just one ride tomorrow which is on Never A Word (7.15) and William Haggas has a 48% (11-23) strike rate (+9) at Redcar where he sends out two runners in Nicklaus (1.30) and One For June (2.00), Harry Cobden has a fantastic record at Wincanton when riding over hurdles with a 61% strike rate (14-23) and a LSP of +20, he rides both Silver Quay (1.40) and White Moon (4.00).

Just a note on Dascombe at Haydock (Which many will already know!), since the beginning of 2016 he shows a LSP of +116.51 in handicaps there with 26 winners from 100 and really excels in Class 5 races with a LSP of +86.76 and a strike rate of 36% (14-39) and both Story Minister (1.50) and Vodka Pigeon (4.45) are both out tomorrow, Kingscote is on the second runner and if factoring him in to the Class 5 races then the strike rate jumps to 42%.

Of course Haydock has been abandoned so some of those notes are pointless! :sarcasm:

Nicklaus, One For June, White Moon have all gone in, Catamaran Du Seuil could only manage a 2nd and Silver Quay well beaten at big odds.

Wonder if Never A Word could round off a good day, it's only 66/1 :P

**Well it was 66/1 this morning, it's now as short as 12/1!**

Tilly Tinker may be worth a small each-way in the 7.45 Newcastle at 100/1 or so. Her 2l 3rd place at Hamilton in June has worked out well with the first two rated 70+. They pulled 6l clear of the others, and runs off a mark of just 58 today. Has a break to overcome, and apprentice ridden, but first-time blinkers show a sign of intent.

Was poor in a class 4 at Carlisle after that, but obviously thought good enough to give it a go.

I think the Hamilton run is decent enough form to risk a few pennies at 100/1, especially in this class 6.
