Derby Day Sunday - £20 Best Tip Comment

Postby PompeyJim » Wed Dec 06, 2017 2:50 pm

Sunday plays host to the Merseyside and Manchester derbies and OLBG are offering a £20 cash prize for the most informative tip comment added by a member on either of the two matches -

LIVERPOOL v EVERTON - k.o. 2.15pm
MAN UNITED v MAN CITY - k.o. 4.30pm

The Comments Team will consider tips with comment analysis placed on all the available match markets and to qualify the tip/s must be added in the monthly competition in the usual way using the 'Make a Tip' menu -

https://www.olbg.com/members/maketip.php?id=16

We will be looking for detailed analysis that will highlight some or all of the following:

- Recent form of both teams
- Important team news, notable absentees, injuries, suspensions etc..
- Team set up, likely styles and key areas/players.
- Recent and relevant derby head to heads.
- Plus any relevant info that you feel gives your tip that edge to influence followers placing a bet.

The comments team will judge ALL the tip comments as it's the excellent content analysis we are judging not just winning tips and will announce the £20 cash prize winner on this thread and the cash will be paid directly into the winners OLBG account.

We intend to run ongoing a £20 "best comment" competition on one event each week and to encourage more people to get involved the £20 prize can only be won once by any member in a calendar month.

The high profile live TV games are of high interest and OLBG will see many new users accessing the app and website looking for guidance and advice from our Football tipsters and with the two big derby clashes this weekend let's show them the quality we have and bag yourself a cool £20 in the process !

We look forward to judging your excellent analysis for OLBG followers again this week.

Enjoy the matches and best of luck with your football tipping this month, lets see out 2017 with a winner or two !

Hi Pompey,

is this competition just on the HOME/AWAY/DRAW market? i was thinking of backing the handicap market instead. will all markets be considered if they are given in depth analysis!

This is open to all markets on either match, not just the FT Result market so the AH would count towards it.

Great comp idea! Only gripe is I had to reduce my reasoning from 450 words down to 200 as required. Hopefully condensed it with enough sound content

Thanks to all members who added tips on the two derby matches, lot's of informative content for OLBG users to view before placing their bets.

Again a long short list condensed with mentions to nawoo, Robmull, Honeybadger, bowhillbear, rward2011, Tigerled, twfaulkner and bluemal, big thank you for your informative analysis.

The £20 winner this week is robinho7 and we have also awarded a £5 spot prize to Jack1712 who joined OLBG as recent as October and is adding really informative tip analysis for OLBG followers, well done both.

(Man City)

"Utd will set up to stifle City as they know that if they try to play an open game they will get played off the park.
David Silva could be a big blow for City if he does miss out through injury but for this one off game i think he's not as big a loss as Pogba is to Utd due to them having De Bruyne, Sterling and Sane all in top form and two world class strikers scoring goals regularly.
Utd are unbeaten at home this season but City are still yet to lose at all in the league. Lukaku has been mis firing for 2 months now and has scored 1 in his last 8 league games. City have scored 46 goals, an average of over 3 goals a game.
The power of dominance is certainly turning from the Red half to the Blue half of Manchester and that's showing with the Derby results too.
After years of dominating against City, Utd have won just 1 of the last 6 home meetings with them and could get outclassed again."

Liverpool (Asian Handicap)

"Both in form and couldn't come at a better time for the neutral to enjoy as part 1 of the Derby double header.
Since the announcement of Big Sam becoming Everton Manager, fortunes have turned around quickly, winning both league matches & in the Europa league. In that run they've scored 9 goals with clean sheets in all 3 games.
Big Sam was the last person to manage a winning team at Anfield. His Palace side came to Anfield last April and despite going behind, a goal either side of half time from former Liverpool striker Benteke saw Palace win.
The Everton players always seem to freeze when they visit Anfield which is why the side haven't won at there since 1999.
With hard tackles almost outlawed these days it favours Liverpool who's flair players won't be marked tightly.
Liverpool are currently 9 matches unbeaten, scoring 3+ goals in 8 of them and have also scored 3+ goals in this fixture in Three of the past Four seasons.
Liverpool should win and worth backing the handicap with the amount of times they've covered it both this season and in the recent history of this fixture."

Jack1712 -

Everton (Asian Handicap)

"Liverpool’s attack has looked lethal and they have scored 15 goals in their last 3 matches. However Everton have kept 3 clean sheets in a row and look far more organised since Big Sam has taken charge. Allardyce has faced Klopp 3 times, twice with Sunderland and once with Palace, and has won one drawn one and lost one. Allardyce loves to frustrate the bigger teams, especially with this being a derby. I think Everton will have a point to prove and with Rooney and Sigurdsson playing closer to their best they have every chance of scoring against a Liverpool defence with a mistake or two in them."

Man Utd

"Man City have been far from their best in recent weeks and have been fortunate to beat West Ham and Southampton with late goals. United need to win here to stay in the title race, even at this early stage so I would be surprised if Mourinho set up with his usual defensive emphasis. United haven’t lost at Old Trafford for 40 matches and have won every Home game this season in all competitions. The pace and strength of United will be a nightmare for City to deal with, particularly without Stones and potentially without Kompany and Delph. City suffered their first defeat of the season on Tuesday which is not ideal preparation for this derby, even if they did rest some first team players. I think 5/2 for a team who have won every match they have played at home this season and have conceded just one goal at Old Trafford in the premier league this season is a very good price, particularly given that they have been the more convincing of the two sides in recent weeks."

Well done to the winners and a big thank you to all, this weekend's £20 Best Tip Comment Prize will be on the OLBG Mares Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham on Saturday.
