1. Holywell
2. Rule the World
3. Boston Bob
Used a few popular race trends i.e weight age to narrow the field to around 10 then tackled it like a normal race.
Also every national I do a tricast on birthday numbers as a kind of lucky dip ticket.
would be great for a OLBG member to smash in a 1000/1 tricast

1 - Boston Bob
2 - Goonyella
3 - Triolo D'Alene

Allowing that I can't have anything at 10/1 or below. I want 10/1 to get round!! Having checked out the key trends, I ended up with about a dozen. These three are the ones I like the most. Always had a soft spot for BB, but genuinely feel that if he can get into that required rhythm, he could be warming up around the 3m mark on his day.

Regarding the number of tricasts in a perm of three horses, it is a common misconception that there are more bets for the tricast than the forecast. If there are three horses named A B an C, the combinations possible are:-

ABC
ACB
BAC
BCA
CAB
CBA

It's therefore six bets to cover the three in tricasts, which is the same as the number of forecasts possible. If you think about it another way, once the forecast places are filled, the other horse can only be third.

I like Many Clouds and The Last Samuri here. There is proven class with Many Clouds and he comes here trained specifically for the race this year.

The Last Samuri doesn't convince everyone with his jumping but he is young and improving, plus he seems to stay so well.

They are not great prices now but I did both ante post and have 25/1 and 33/1.

I swithered between Saint Are and Ucello Conti before picking the latter at 40/1. Saint Are was 33/1 at the time but I narrowly fancied Ucello Conti of the two. His Thyestes run hasn't worked out though, so I would swap to Saint Are for tricast purposes now.

1. Many Clouds
2. The Last Samuri
3. Saint Are

I would lay Holywell, Silviniaco Conti, Sir Des Champs, Boston Bob and First Lieutenant.

1 - Holywell
2- The Druid's Nephew
3- Goonyella

My first set of analysis came up with exactly the same as Leicester Bigot in the previous post so I turfed them and chose the next 3 on my list....
