Grand National Novelty Markets

Postby nors » Wed Mar 23, 2016 9:50 am

These are the special markets currently from Paddy Power, you can see that this bookie favour trained in GB, carrying under 11 stone

The Winner to Be Trained in G B 1/2
Winner to Carry Under 11st 4/6
Winner to Carry 11st or More 11/10
All horses to clear first fence 6/4
Irish trained winner 6/4
Gigginstown to Own the Winner 6/1
Paul Nicholls to Train the Winner 6/1
Jonjo O Neill to Train the Winner 9/1
JP McManus owned winner 7/2
Nicky Henderson to Train the Winner 10/1
Willie Mullins to Train the Winner 10/1
Female to train the winner 16/1
Female to ride the winner 20/1

Not sure any are great value but interesting to see their take on the race. As always as we get closer it will be informative if any of these prices move appreciably.

Nice topic nors.

1: Can rule that one out!!
All horses to clear first fence 6/4
As horses go too fast to get good position!

Might rather go with this as better chance..
Female to train the winner 16/1 ..

Anyway like you say Not sure any are great value but interesting to see their take on the race.

I done last year 5th shut door something at 20/1 quite like.
don t know any special on markets on that one?
Least we know he stays...

Jonjo said Shutthefrontdoor came back with an abcess after his poor run last time and that he was relieved that there was a reason for the awful effort on the day.

There were three first fence fallers last year, one the year before, none the year before that.

5 fallers in 98,2000,2006 and 9!!! first fence fallers in 2002.

6/4 on no fallers seems far too short.

With the quality of the horses running increasing and likely decent ground I will be looking at the total finishers market. it has been between 14-19 for the last 8 years but would think it could be towards the upper end of that this year, if not higher.
