Regarding the Mullins horses, maybe he is changing his plans, with all the forecast rain
On His Own also has entries in The Scottish National & The bet365 Gold Cup
Sir Des Champs also has entries in the above races, plus the Topham on Friday.
Boston Bob is also entered for the first 2 mentioned races.
Ballcasey has entries in the Topham & Scottish National

I feel Ballycasey would do better in the Topham.
I have watched him a few times and he doesn't look a Grand National horse to me. I went against him in the Thyestes Chase because I thought he would struggle to get home on the very testing ground.
Watching him that day he definitely seemed to get tired and once he was headed he weakened out of it pretty quickly.
I can't see the Grand National being a trip that would suit based on evidence so far.

I have just posted a further update of my trends based blog (link below) now that the final declarations have been published and have applied 4 additional filters to reduce the original qualifiers to a short list of 5 confirmed runners, plus a reserve.

Looking for a 100/1 shot who might just plug on through the soft to grab a place....or more
17:15 Grand National 25 EW Aachen (AntePost) 100/1 bet365
May not be a forlorn hope on soft going and seems to be improving at the very sprightly age of 12! Won at Cheltenham by 17l on soft in December off a mark of 133 over 26f and then showed that was no fluke by finishing a 1/4 length behind Soll on heavy at Sandown off 146 next time out. May well do well if it remains soft or heavier as he has a record of 2-1-1-3-PU-1-4-3-PU-1-1-1-1-3-1-1-5. The 5 was his career debut in France and the two pulled-ups were seasonal debuts. Never fallen, won over 3m+.
