Was unlucky last year was leading the whole way but got dragged away by a loose horse. Still ran on well and completed the race. Was against unlucky at Cheltenham when was brought down by a horse when was in contention, It's due a bit of luck. Also 5 pounds lighter in the weights this year. Fancy it to go well.

I'm warming to First Lieutenant, I generally stay away from romantic story types as price is often too short. But certainly ticks a lot of the main boxes and is likely to be involved even if finding some too good.

Trends seem to lead me towards Godsmejudge and Al co, Night in Milan and Monbeg Dude. Will be backing Godsmejudge and Al co as I like more of the finer details relating to their claims.

But have seen a couple of others who seem to have a similar interpretation to myself on the less favoured Super Duty. Was very impressed by him earlier in career and while several trends would need to be bucked, he only narrowly misses out on a couple of criteria, finishing a nose 2nd on a couple of occasions, otherwise he'd be much more strongly favoured.

Super Duty has raced Rocky Creek and gave a similar level of performance, despite racing off the same weight. Here he has about a stone in his favour. Need to forgive him the recent form, but with clever owner, will have be aimed and given every chance. :win:

Well done to tipsters who tipped Many Clouds in the tipping competition including the following.

sixthformer
6 Month LSP: 4.63
6 Month Strike: 13.5%
6 Month ROI: 10%
Monthly Profit Trend: LLPLLP
April LSP: 0.00
12 Month LSP: -2.95
14 Day Streak: --------------

Win NAP Wyck Hill won the Eider Chase last year and is available at a lucrative price. Many Clouds is also quite a price. The pedigree of Cloudings and Bob Back suggest he should stay and while he's got a lot of weight he's also a very classy horse. Others I like are the bottom weight Royale Knight (for last year's winning trainer) and an obvious pick in Rocky Creek. Spring Heeled has been drifting in the betting. I like him too.

6 Month ROI: -18%
Monthly Profit Trend: LLLPLP
April LSP: -7.01
12 Month LSP: -4.76
14 Day Streak: ------------LL-

EW Keeps on improving last few years finised sixth in gold cup, decent jumper and I think will stay, not out of top six in last five runs.

6 Month LSP: -9.64
6 Month Strike: 40.0%
6 Month ROI: -34%
Monthly Profit Trend: LPL
April LSP: 0.00
12 Month LSP: -9.64
14 Day Streak: --------------

EW The Hennessy winner has shown plenty of class and a big powerful stayer has always looked the classic Aintree sort. Hopefully the drying ground will not be too much against him and he should be well tuned after his 6th at CHeltenham. Leighton Aspell clearly thinks so having deserted last year's winner for Trevor hemmings horse, and he looks to be a massive price.

Bobsselections
6 Month LSP: -76.90
6 Month Strike: 44.9%
6 Month ROI: -2%
Monthly Profit Trend: PLPLLL
April LSP: 3.88
12 Month LSP: -240.21
14 Day Streak: LLPPLLPPLLLLPPL

EW Since November has won a Listed chase followed by the Hennessey and then the BetBright Cup at Cheltenham in January.
Only run since those three wins is when sixth of sixteen behind Coneygree in the Cheltenham Gold Cup when staying on so might relish this step up in trip.
Overall good form this season could see him make the places if avoiding trouble as he was brought down in the RSA at Cheltenham last year.

Think most including myself will have excluded on weight. Last horse to win carrying more was Red Rum in 74, but with new system in place delivering heavier winners in recent years, it looks to be a red herring.

Well done on the winners.

Great race alright, was up off the sofa roaring shutthefrontdoor on.Thought coming up to the last jump the fairytale ending was in sight.I backed first lieutenant who beat 3 horses home.l could see nina hard at work on her mount in the background as the leaders went over the last. Well done to all the backers of many clouds.Just goes to show weight isn't a issue in the national anymore. And with all the finishers it shows you need more a stayer than a jumper these days in the national.
