Whether or not Tidal Bay runs is the key here. If he does, it will put most of the field out of the weights.

Nice blog Micko70 appreciated. I see it is just 4 places for each-way bets at all bookies at the moment is that the norm or is it because it is ante-post?

I think all nationals are four places??
Correct me if i m wrong??

Grand National is special one, 5 places, as 40 runners allways.
While other nationals have less runners..

You might get 1 or 2 bookies paying 5 places if the full 30 field take part but as a rule it's only 4 places

Got my eye and had a few quid on Merry King. Threatened all this year and seems the type to improve off his current mark. He does his best work late on which suggests the extra distance will suit him, he's been supported in every race this season, handles the ground and is a consistent enough horse. 20/1 is a nice enough price for e/w value.

Fantastic blog Micko! I shall have a few pennies on the two selections, as well as my initial picks of Roalco De Farges and Scotswell. Good luck!

Bookies are saying that last year this was the 4th most popular betting race (turnover) after the GN/Gold Cup/Derby. Not had a close look at the race but i liked the form of the Phillip Hobbs Roalco Des Farges at 14/1 with SportingBet
