GN Blog down - due to server

Postby Systemsman » Fri Apr 05, 2013 7:48 pm

Seven Towers lets stay on here until GN Blog is back up and running - if ever(its the server - overload i think). Forgot to put on the blog a plan B like last year which was to use this as an alternative - lets hope others find there way here.

The excitement builds - watching a TV guide on how to win the GN (very basic stuff)lots about T43 and talking about DNA or something thats required (stamina) - they dont even know about dosage or mention it.

We will hear all sorts of crap in the next 24hours for sure and no more than about Seabass must win as its got a female jockey. Now i would like Seabass to win (but would prefer T43 or Cappa) and i would like a female jockey to win sometime but just because it has a female jockey does not mean it has to win and i think the pressure will get to katie this year.

There's been a connection over the last few years with the sire Old Vic and the big race. Don't Push It and Comply or Die both won it in recent years, DPI also finished placed. Last year Sunnyhillyboy nearly made it 3 wins in the last 5 years with the rag In Compliance back in 5th at 100/1.

Old Vic has 3 offspring tomorrow :-

(isn't that what I said?)

Yep said the same thing that's why on at 20s at the start of the whole threads and why I'll be getting out for a free bet - push comes to shove over this distance she can't beat the lads - she can get him round mind and that is half the battle. Was hoping Ruby would end up picking but he hasn't so his chance is probably lessened by that 5-10Ls he needs to find to win (not to place like some others).

I cant believe im saying this about a horse of 12 years that on trends cant possible win "but" Ballabriggs surely has every chance after last years very good 6th place off a high weight, the horse is now back to its national winning weight. The horse does not have loads of miles on the clock for a 12 year, could it do the unthinkable and win a 2nd grand national at the age of 12???

Why can't a 12yo win the race?

6 x 12yo's have won the race since 1975

In fact here is the record from 1975 until last year -

8yo's = 3 wins
9yo's = 10 wins
10yo's = 10 wins
11yo's = 8 wins
12yo's = 6 wins

Not too bad really is it??????

If we go back a bit further to 1962, then the record is -

8yo's = 7 wins
9yo's = 16 wins
10yo's = 10 wins
11yo's = 8 wins
12yo's = 9 wins

Look's even better for 12yo's now

No problem

There are 7 horses running this year that are aged 12 and 2 of those come out on top in my trends, along with a 10yo and i have backed all 3
