I quite like Join Together, still in 20/1 in places, be alot shorter
on the day..
Big Fella double the odds tempting think got round course twice,
and one was placed.
Got a feeling a 12 year old will win it this year..

 Love to Seabass win, that be a great National Story..
:NAP: lady jockey to win the national.
After a Grey won last year national...

Yes think got my bets sorted out now.. :)
Cheers andystaff for a great write up, but still be following this,
only done three so far.
At last National getting closer.. :)
And hope all the horses return safely and sound....

Good to soft apparently today and the chance of significant rain looks not that likely - so possible will be G/S on the day - would think that will be fine for most runners though there would be a few that might prefer softer ground (to slow the others down for one thing(.

Hi andy,
the David Duncan stats I refer to come from his book"Winning Horse Racing Formulae" published in 2005.

I have given Tofino Bay an "N" because he's run 7 times already this season. He is also a bit of a puzzle as he's only ran in 7 chases, and 4 PTPs. I'm not sure I should include these, but I have decided to rule him out as the hard decisions must be made sooner or later.

Yes T43's Haydock run was a bit of a disappointment but R. Curtis did say he hated the ground, it was like a bog. Also did'nt she say something about him being upset because they travelled down the day before and that in future they are not gonna travel until the day of the race...or did i dream that?

What you liking or already backed?

Beauchene out of National

Willie Mullins has confirmed that leading Grand National fancy Prince De Beauchene will miss the race because of injury.

The 10-year-old was around the 12/1 mark for the Aintree showpiece after winning two of his three races this season and finishing second to Roi Du Mee in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse last time out.

Mullins' charge was favourite for the 2012 National but was withdrawn a week before the race with a similar setback.

The Irish champion trainer will now rely on likely favourite On His Own, like Prince De Beauchene owned by Andrea and Graham Wylie, with Quiscover Fontaine and Quel Esprit also featuring among the remaining entries.

A statement on Mullins' website read: "We have had some bad news about Prince De Beauchene.

"He had not been striding out for the last few days and following a bone scan at Troytown Veterinary Hospital, it has been confirmed he has a minor stress fracture in his illium.

"He will require at least six weeks box rest so unfortunately he will miss the Aintree Grand National."
Second year running he's had problems. Great shame for connections.

I hope any punters on had NRNB...

Hi andystaff

T43 looked OK in the paddock - in fact he was the standout of a good bunch. AP always seemed to be of the mind that the slower the ground the better for him so his run at Haydock a bit baffling.

I've backed Seabass at 20-1 and Tofino Bay at 33-1 EW NRNB. I had a quick look last night in case TB not running but there's nothing that grabs me - On His Own and Cappa Bleu have decent chances but the prices all gone on them now. Ballabriggs, Across the Bay (if soft), and Big Fella Thanks (for a place, good jock up now DoR one of the best for me) are all capable of running well at decent prices.

There's also a bunch of horses round the 50-1 mark you couldn't write off completely (useful back form) in the likes of Quel Esprit, Bostons Angel, Weird Al, Joncol. Not saying they are likely winners but you wouldn't rule them out either.
